Well, I'm back at it trying different things with XRumer.
This time, I tried to do an XRumer run using a zlink list (general forums I assume, so they were not targeted for my keyword) of about 500,000+ from a member here on BHW and doing a normal looking "hello, i'm new here" post with the signature featuring the link to my page. I spun the signature link with about 5-10 keywords generated in Google's External Keyword Tool related to my site but the URL I used was always to my main domain. Also, I used my main domain as the URL in the "website" field for the profile.
I didn't want to create too many new links because even though I have done some heavy backlinking for the site and it has been around for more than 8 months now, I didn't want to risk a lot.
So, I stopped XRumer after it had successfully created 20,000 posts. Here are all of the stats:
Successful (20,067), Part.Succ. (41,932), Profiles (42), Activation Required (355), The rest (31,491)
One nice thing about zlink lists is that they go fast! Usually I get a posting rate of 150-200/min with a normal link list... but with this zlink list, I was getting posting speeds of 800+/min! Plus, the number of failed attempts was far less, too.
Last night, while running the XRumer run, I checked my site's stats for some main keywords (Google/Yahoo/MSN Live):
Keyword #1: 7/9/4
Keyword #2: 14/13/21
Keyword #3: 22/-/12
Keyword #4: 20/70/8
These keywords are fairly competitive and I have hit a wall since they are no longer responding to the Angela's and Paul's links that I have been creating to get them to where they are now.
So, I did the XRumer run last night and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning, I checked my stats and found this:
Keyword #1: 13/13/6
Keyword #2: 13/13/36
Keyword #3: 22/-/12
Keyword #4: 20/69/9
I went back and checked my keywords and noticed that I had forgotten to include keywords #1 and #2. The keywords I blasted were actually based mostly around #3 and somewhat about #4.
This is interesting because you can see that in one night, my rankings for #1 and #2 dropped!! At the same time, my rankings for #3 and #4 didn't change much.
Is this normal? If I backlink heavily for a certain keyword term and don't include another keyword term does that mean that the other keyword term is going to get penalized by Google? Perhaps Google looks at the percentage of anchor texts for backlinks and calculates ranking based partially on that. In that case, the influx of new links pointing to keywords #3 and #4 would change the composition and therefore result in a smaller percentage of anchor texts pointing at keywords #1 and #2 thus possibly hurting their rankings.
In any case, if the rankings change again, I will post again in this thread.
Can anyone here comment on my observation regarding keywords and falling rank? Also, how many backlinks are ideal to be created without doing too many and making Google suspect something is up? This time, I created 20,000... should I go for fewer links or more links next time?
Thanks for any help!
