If I use XRumer on my regular Comcast cable internet connection, do I run any risk of getting in trouble from my ISP?

Yes. Always, always use proxies whenever you're link spamming!

Yea, I do ALWAYS use proxies etc, wasn't sure if Comcast would fine out and terminate me or otherwise...I have no intention of email spam etc, mainly just link building...

Anyone heard of someone getting their internet cut off due to xrumer?

It can happen although the chances are absolutely minimal if you are militant about checking your proxies regularly for anonymity. However this is one reason why people generally use VPSs or dedicated servers for link spamming - if one of your proxies fails and you get some complaints, it's much easier to just move to another server than it is to set up another ISP connection, plus you are slightly more insulated from any other legal bullshit.

Generally if you get complaints to your ISP and they're not about actual email spam, they will send you an abuse complaint before they actually cut you off, so you have a chance to remedy your bad behaviour and / or claim it wasn't you, someone must have installed malware on your PC etc.

You can get a vps and run xrumer.. but its not nearly as efficient as a dedicated server.

I have a dedi with xrumer and scrapeboard im trying to rent out for $150 a month.

    bulletproof hosting

    the server is i3-540 3.07ghz
    2gb ram
    5000gb bandwidth

You can start with a vps if you like to. Small investment but you can run 24/7

This is an extremely helpful advice and should be really made sticky somehow. Maybe you want to start a new thread "Why to buy a VPS instead of spamming@home" :). So many starters here who need exactly that advice.

comcast has a bandwidth cap of 250gb. Thats nothing for xrumer. They will kick you out for going over that limit.....

    Definitely use proxies.

I am on Comcast and I exceed 250gb constantly. Maybe it is the plan I am on, or the area. I have heard of caps, but it has never effected me at all.

    - use VPN for Xrumer when doing profiles and make vpn change automatic every 30 mins when doing spam posting,

    - Use Public Proxies when scraping with Hrfere and SBox

    - Use private proxies when commenting with SBox or vpn and make it change itself automatically every 5mins
