    Hi all,
I have been a long-time lurker on this forum, trying various forays into IM but never sticking with it, therefore never succeeding. I'm hoping that creating this thread will spurr me on and keep me focused on one project long enough to see some results!

I've tried ad-sense, click-bank, and other random experiments, with only small amounts of success. I came across an Amazon journey the other day and from then on was hooked. I found many, many more, with various guides and journeys and thought i'd try my hand at it. I like setting mile-stone goals as it keeps me focused, so my goals look like this:
    £1 a day
    £5 a day
    £10 a day

I know these may look small to most, but I work a full-time job and supplementing my career with higher education qualifications, so don't necessarily have as much time as I would like! I'm also on a very tight budget, with most of my money going towards living, so this is a near £0 budget.

    So far I've:
    - Done keyword research
    - Picked my niche
    - Bought an EMD+word.com (ie: kitchensinkworld.com) <--- not my niche, but it gives me an idea....
    - Setup wordpress and building a magazine style theme
    - Ordered 10 articles (5 review and 5 niche related articles) from fiverr.
    - I know fiverr isn't rated too highly for this, but I'm not amazing at churning out articles, so I've outsourced them, then will go through them and add some personal touches, will save me a lot of time

Main keyword is getting about 3000 monthly searches, with other keywords getting between 100-2,500

I hope to update this at least 3 times a week and of course answer any questions you may have! Also, any tips and advice will be taken onboard and very much appreciated.

    Thanks very much!

Good luck. Will be keeping watch, I'm starting a similar project myself in the next few days.

Are you using the US or UK affiliate program?

Looks interesting, hopefully you will make to the point you want to achieve. Persistence is something what you shouldn't avoid ;)

Just so you know, you don't have to if you don't want to. I assumed the US has the bigger market so I just choose to use that version. I'm also in the UK but all that means is my cheques take a bit longer to arrive and process.

Working on a niche right now with the same amount of monthly searches. I am sitting at 27 right now. Keep in mind it was a brand new domain. I have been working on it for about a month now. Just throw some pbn posts at it and some web 2.0s and go from there.

oh ok, thats something i'll definitely bear in mind. Did you try with the UK version first or go straight for the US?

ok cheers for the advice. I don't actually know about PBN other than what PBN stands for as i've never used them before, so that's something I'll have to do some research on!

Nice thread! I'm actually also developing a few sites that always seem to get stuck on 2nd/3rd page of the serps. I'm crious about your next moves to get to the top 5!

I have a rough plan that i'm going to be following, i would like to get some opinions on it however!

    - I'm going to add a custom header when that comes through
    - Create social sharing pages (ie facebook, twitter, pintrest)
    - Either 1. Upload all reviews at once and drip feed articles OR 2. drip feed one article per week, including reviews.
    - Social share my articles
    - Setup google alerts for related keywords and commenting with a relevant article/link to my site
    - After two-three weeks start a slow, progressive backlinking strategy to climb the serps (im not quite sure how im going to do this one)

I'd be interested to hear what you do with your sites gbarturen and why the get stuck on 2nd/3rd page!

I started with the UK version but when I saw 70%+ of my traffic was from the US I switched. Though if you focus on more uk based keywords you'd probably get more UK traffic. If you really want it's possible to sign up to both and use send visitors to their respective store.

I received my 10 articles today, they look good quality and read very well! I will be uploading them soon.
I'd like an opinion though, would it be better to do a bulk upload of all 10 or drip feed them over 5-10 weeks? What looks nicer for google?

Been a bit lacking on here atm, got a lot of assignments given out this week, but hoping to be back on it from tomorrow!

I guess I'll see where my traffic comes from and make a decision at the time, but its definitely a good idea to open up your options.

    *Update 1 - 18/01/15*

ok, so this is going to be my first update on this journey. Its probably a little later than I would've wanted though!

The first thing to say is I have finished the basic design of my site; I have 3 custom logos all done, going to see which one I like best over the coming weeks.
For those that are curious, I built the site on the Genesis Framework; I feel it gives me loads of freedom to do what I need, even if it is a magazine theme!

I received my 10 articles during the week. Well written in the style that I wanted, but a few tweaks have been needed.
I'm dripping them onto my site 2-3 articles a week, but the time they're all up I'll be in the position to order some more.
Within the articles I'm linking to other articles on my site, as well as looking into any other high pr authority sites I can link to.

No traffic just yet (obviously) and I'm a little worried that maybe the keywords I'm targeting and the niche I'm in is going to be harder than I realised!

The plan for the coming week is to:
    - Upload two more articles (1 review and 1 helpful article)
    - Use my google alerts to find other related sites, possibly do some legit blog commenting, networking to help drive some traffic and give my site a little authority
    - Try and get my social sites up and running so I can share the articles on social sites
    - As always, more research!

Thanks for sticking with me so far guys, I have a long way to go but I'm sure I'll get there!
