Alright guys well I have a deal that I came across from a buddy who is looking to sell his xbox 360. To start off I don't have any consoles at my house and I am looking to upgrade my room with a flat screen / table / etc. very soon and think I need a decent console in my room.

In the past I have just had a PS2 which I am very comfortable with... I have also looked into getting the nice PS3 but its going to be around $300-500. My buddy has gave me this offer on his xbox 360 and I just wanted to get some opinions if this is good or not...

    Xbox 360 Elite 250GB (7-10 months old) - $200
    12 Games + 2 Wireless Controllers - $100
    Total - $300

For $300 is it worth having 12 games / Xbox 360 Elite 250GB / 2 Wireless Controllers? He says 6 of the games are older for the white Xbox 360 but he said the other 6 games are fairly new such as Black Ops / Forza / etc.

Let me know if I should take this deal or not...

Yeah, that seems like a pretty good deal. It really depends on the games too though.

I own a PS3 and Xbox 360 and personally I would buy a PS3 over the Xbox 360 any day. I have had nothing buy problems with my Xbox and they make money off your Console breaking and that's just not right. The only reason I ever got an Xbox in the first place was for Halo. Overall I think the PS3 is a better system anyways.

That is actually what I was thinking and they also give you free online play when Xbox live cost like $50 a year... I mean $50 isn't going to break the bank but why spend it if you can play online for free. I might as well purchase the Xbox 360 and sell it in pieces so 2 wireless controllers $65. Xbox 360 Elite 250GB $250 and the games $10-15 a piece including Black Ops lol.

i own both the ps3 and 360 and prefer the 360 by far, especially for the online portion. The saying "you get what you pay for" applies to the xbox live as well.

It depends on the game, new games are a rip off (even used newer games). So if these are games you'd buy and play you're saving money.

If you think they're games you'll only play once then I'd just buy a new console and get a couple games when you have the urge/spare cash.

I would say that's not worth it. You can get good controllers on ebay for $25 as well as blackops for $20. He probably meant 6 are original xbox games because the games for the white xbox and the new ones tthat are kinect ready are the same games. If there's no tax, no fees, and free shipping, this might be an ok deal if you're really looking for one. Games are pretty much worthless as far as resale value goes.

For that many games and the console and controllers it is a good deal. As for the xbox live part, you could always try to find an online code generator like at pointsgenerator.net....... oh a shameless plug. haha. but seriously that is a great deal.

red ring is actually very easy to fix. I fixed mine for about $15 and 10 minutes of work.

You're comparing the Xbox Live to PSN by saying "You get what you pay for"? but PSN is free. So you get basically the same thing, which you don't have to pay for. Sweet, some hackers hacked PSN and they were down for a couple weeks, but it's completely free and the gave free games, movies and more after being down for that long. Not to mention I'm sure the same thing could have happened to Xbox Live.

I'm just not a fan of Microsoft after getting the Red Ring of Death 3 times. Each time they charged me 100$ to fix it, which I know cost them less than 50$ to fix on their end. What kind of company releases a product that breaks for hundreds of thousands of people world wide and then makes a profit off their product breaking? I don't think that anyone can argue that they don't make a profit, after charging 100$ when all they pay for is, shipping, labor fees and probably 1-2 parts. One of the times it was only 40-60$ more for me to just buy a brand new Xbox 360 arcade. I could ran for days, but I'll stop there.

Black Ops itself is worth the $300 alone, zombie mode ftw :)

I like Xbox 360 gameplay and the controllers more and have heard they have a bigger online network because they were first on the market but playstation has a better dashboard. You can do so much with the ps3 home media wise it boggles the mind. The console is worth as much as you are willing to pay for it, and if the $300 was the first offer try to get a better price even if its good because people are always willing to negotiate maybe you can get it for $250 w/ games.
