I know you guys know this stuff! Please tell me what drugs google is on?

I have country specific domains..... yes I am just rambling here and possible jumping to conclusions.

But sometimes I notice a page ranks higher in my base country than the country which the domain is registered... for example .fr domain

Sometimes I do wonder, Is google checking the webmasters location on whois, or some other details? Or checking the ip of the webmaster lol
Even if they did, it should have so little relevence to their algorithm im sure

Yes, by the way the hosting is not in my country where i live. ......... I know that might have been an issue... but not in this case

I dont know for sure but it seem highly unlikely just because you live in a certain country google will make it rank faster for that country.

well if the language of that site in different than english than it should, but if your site is in english...well not sure what to say about that, it might have a small impact but not as high as you might want it to.

Don't let G's search results get in the way of your work. Instead, focus on the things you can control, like the quality of your content and on-page SEO. Also, on WMT, set your site to target your geo-location rather than worldwide traffic.

If you are on a mainstream niche, also improve your social network presence.

Ye, I am getting ahead of myself... everything is geo-targeted for one site, language is not english. My other site language is enlglish, hosting is usa, but it gets a high ranking in my home country. Not in the top 50 in usa, is a very competitive keyword though for that one. Again only the whois info really otherwise everything else is unrelated to my country

I will give it time let it settle.

Unfortunately that is not the through. If google pay the most for adsense clicks from US than from entire Europe you can see where is the problem

Page rank is not a Google thing anymore, so could whats up with that. Hosting could be fruity too. But where your traffic is coming from may be the reason why too. Google has a reason, just look at the factors.

Main part is quality of content that you produce. Focus on that. There may be few possibilities that Google gives high ranking in base your country considering that you live in that.
