I created my blog yesterday and made 1 post about me and gave a couple tips on my niche. I pinged the blog on a list of ping sites using the automatic feature in wordpress and I created maybe 3 maybe 4 backlinks.

Today I was setting up my subscription newsletter page, I tested it with myself using my main gmail and the subscription confirmation went straight to my spam box.

    WTF!?

This will most likely be down to one of the following:

    • The number of URLs in your newsletter
    • Whether you used spammy keywords
    • Gmail may have strict spam settings

It's just stupid. The domain is a first and last name, the IP I am currently using has never been used for any domain or any internet marketing.

It just baffles me that I am spam already.

That happens sometimes without any apparent reason. Do you use Aweber or any other 'big dog' service? If not, chances are your confirmation emails will go to the spam folder more often.

It could be due to the fact that you're not using a service. I assume you're just using your webhost? If so, someone else on that server could of been spamming or something, but I really doubt that.

It's something that you wrote in your newsletter that probably set off the spam blocker. A word like 'guarantee' will send you right to the spam box. I'm sure you could google it and find a lot of different words you shouldn't be using.

You need to whitelist your domain + server-IP
