OK, so last week I bought Troopal (for my brother) and he decided, within 24 hours, that it wasn't for him and that he really had no use for it considering the expense he realized he had to put into it.

So, within that 24 hour period, I had emailed Troopal support for him, asking for a refund as the program came with more of an investment then he was interested in and this is the email they sent:

"There is no refund on the software price. However if you don't want to post you can cancel your monthly subscription at any time.

    Postsalot"

So, 20 minutes later I receive another email from Troopal support saying this:

You have received an OnTime Notification. Here are the notification details:

    Change Details:

    • Description has changed
    • Notes has changed
    • Workflow Step has changed
    • Status has changed

Task Id: 246 Name: Refund Workflow Step: Completed

Well...no refund was completed, and in fact, they went ahead and charged the paypal account for the $79 subscription.

My question is ~WTF~ !!!!!! Why would there not be any refund available for the program???

to try and answer your question:

So you dont download the software get your money back so you can crack it.

Now I dont know troopal, and if they have a free trial, but this would be my guess.

Sorry, I don't clearly understand what you're trying to say.

It was downloaded, and it was installed, but after he figured out about having to buy credits, PVAs, pay for monthly support and IPRental, he decided it wasn't worth the investment for him.

Whether or not they offered a free trial is no matter. The $400 for the program was spent and they refuse to refund it although they say they have.

I filed a dispute with paypal and I'm waiting on that, but I was really surprised by it.

What I was saying, is you get a software, get a refund and then crack it so you dont have to pay.

Thats why most people have no refund rules.

If they do have a free trial that can be cracked in most cases so that would not be an issue.

Now everyone is like that. You can always refund; just they'll try to make those efforts harder. I think with the bad experience of scammers (knowing their name and address - someone should post it to a directory) they have a no refund rule. Scammers are found everywhere; especially on eBay...There's a reason why a lot of the sellers dropped off the map because of that.

Anyway..good luck on the refund thing. What is your dispute filed as?

Do they specifically state that they offer refunds with no questions asked etc? I always have a hard time with refund for scripts. It's not up to the seller to give you a refund just because you change your mind.

I don't think you should continue with Paypal. You bought Troopal of your own free will and received exactly what you paid for. I don't think you deserve a refund and it sincerely hurts other software creators to see this kind of behavior.

If paypal doesn't workout just bypass them and complain to ur CC bank. Say whatever u want that's believable and they'll do a chargeback.

<Proexploit> Being dissatisfied with a purchase seems to be a legitimate reason for a refund. That coupled with the fact that the program will not be used (and support quite frankly sucks) is another.

<*********> Thank you for the info I will be doing that in the AM.

<realgangstas> I have had so many issues with PayPal before in regards to actually getting money back for one reason or another - be it being scammed or not receiving a product - it usually doesn't work out in my favor. I have also called my bank and Visa and neither has tried to help resolve the issue since it was "a purchase made via PayPal" - all they tell me is to take it up with PayPal (who of course tells me to take it up with my bank). Gotta love the finger pointing game.

I wasn't accusing anyone of lying, but relaying the message that came to me while on the phone with this guy. He sounded clueless on the phone, said he had nothing to do with Troopal outside of marketing for them in the past and said he couldn't offer me any help in my situation.

I never called anyone a liar, nor said I didn't believe what they said - just simply relayed with the other party told me.
