Is SEMrush late to the ball game??? I can't find a recent BHW thread talking about this. Looking in my dashboard in SEMrush I got this notification, and they mentioned it's the talk around BHW. If PBN's are quality and have minimal footprints, if any, then wtf is the difference? They're going after re-registered domains? Are they gonna make it against the guidelines to re-register a domain and build a site on it? I guess we shall keep building-a-way and see what happens.

I noticed that some P(ublic)BN's got de-indexed in the last week.

I'm pretty sure the main reason that semrush posted that was because of this post. Which got debunked by @Nargil. (The OP shared the domains with him and they were abused). Some other big blogs talked about the doom of PBN's based on that post

Still working for me. But I am seeing more mixed results than I was a while back so definitely some changes are going on.

Definitely some changes happening. An extremely stable site of mine for the last year or so is hopping all over the shop, disappearing from rankings then coming back, which usually means it's about to get the boot.

I've used several vendors on here and have pretty much figured out which one and which service has caused issues with this site (and another one).

I suppose buying public pbn links may become more risky ;)

PBN's are black hat since inception, they are the evolution of the link wheels. so, as always, the can't touch what they can't see. better the pbn, better for your site.
there is no need for any update on this. if the pbn has footprints then your fuxxxed!

This is what everyone should be understood.

The PBN links without footprints still better options for build backlinks.

PBNs' are may soon go out of fashion. Create your own with caution; it is the right time to do it.

I don't think so. Google knows for a long time that PBNs are being used but they are able to take only manual action. If they could identify PBNs algorithmically, they would have preferred that, but for now they can identify PBNs only manually.

yeah, what I see over and over again, are people that have tested 1-2 services around here, on 1-2 keywords for 1-2 websites and after this, the opinion is very well formed and final. if also someone, even from google officials telling : the age of pbn's is over - then here comes the doom's day!.
with no need to appeal to modesty, I've tested all of them on literally hundreds of keywords on literally hundreds of websites on literally tens of geos, on literally tens of combinations of packs and mixes on all of them competitions. the pbn's are nothing more than supposedly different and good backlinks on different sites, period. if the sites are good, the rankings will be good, if the sites are bad, the rankings will be bad, if it is done with obvious footprints then your site, like all the others will be banned.

stop fantasies on manual checking, the always looking eye of google and the black hat google militia. there are trillions of sites on g and more added each day. it would be impossible to check them manually and would be an insane task for any corp in this digitized age. algorithms, robots and bits decide if you are g worthy or not....

That is my thread and for once I think I will clear up some stuff of what happened there.

    1. Made that thread cause some of my domains (1 extremely powerful , 1 weak) refused to index new posts.
    2. My test results are a lot slow then they were back in December.

    What happened
Discussed with @Nargil and found that the powerful domain had a forum in the past and people had used abused it porn, cialis crap. I missed this because I only check ahrefs. The other domain was used for a bit as a Chinese site.

    Solution
Powerful domain created GWT account for it, submitted and everything indexed well and the test results came positive. So I can use it. The other domain has been discarded.

    What I learnt
Things are slow now but they are definitely not dead, and there is definitely a vibe for what you are doing and how protectively you are doing.

Well, people have been cutting corners with public PBNs, domains with bad anchors, history and backlink profiles, shittons of footprints and so on for years.

I've always been telling everyone here to play it safe and rather build something that will last. Not many have listened and the effect is, that you got raped. Is it something that couldn't be anticipatied?

"But but but, when I have all my articles full on homepage and link from there, I am sure it will have more power!"
"Oh, what does it matter that the domain has some viagra anchors, it's still indexed, so it's fine to use!"
"Anchors are clean, but there was Asian site in the past, but it's still indexed, so I will go for it!"
"I have this unrelated domain with bad anchors and I will 301 it to my money site, I am sure I will be #1 overnight!"
"I found this amazing domain with RD300+ by scraping, I am sure it's clean!"
    "What are C class IPs?"
"Free hosts are amazing, why would I waste money?"
"I've been building tier 2 links to my PBN sites and all is fine."

And I could go on like this until tomorrow.

You cut corners, you got banged. Learn from it and move on.

Google will go after anything that ranks you without buying adwords.

    Anything.

If it works, they'll go after it. It's that simple. It's pay to play.

There will only be a few people from BHW that would be able to build a PBN that will last long term.. the rest are the guys opening threads like this!
