This is really weird, I just searched something on G00gle and got this response
Has anyone seen this before? New shit to me. (Incidentally, I searched the phrase "Latin translator", nothing even remotely BH related, from the search bar on IE, nothing special. I don't know why they would think it was an automated query. Unless this is just a random test I never saw before. Kinda scary...

Edit: Even worse, I had to enter the goddamn captcha four times before it let me through!!

This happens when your ip address makes too many searches on google either by you knowingly or unknowingly

No one knows that for sure. But it happens usually when you use keyword tools that fetch data from Google.

Used to be 200 per ip in a 24 hour period. I don't know what it is know.

I get this from time to time when I use the seoquake toolbar too much.

Can't be. What about organizations/institutions behind routers sharing a single IP.

According my keyword tool, this happens when it sends a query every about 15-20 seconds or less.

Google also rejects some searches according to a filter and will give you the same message.

For example try searching for intitle:"design" <--- or any string with the word "sign" !!!! Why? Because early spammers used the intitle search to find guest books to spam. The string "guest" is also banned from intitle searches and a couple of others.

There may be some other trigger for restricting searches and you fail to recognize them.

Its due to the type of queries you have keyed in and the number of them that you have fired within a short time frame. Sometimes trying different browser MIGHT help. Wait a couple of days and this should go away.

Yep. Inurl: and other paramaters like that get you captcha'd fairly quickly.

Yes it happens many times. Maybe you are running an automated program to get the results from G00gle. If that 's the case you may need to use proxies to avoid the problem.

I usually get that after checking the PR of 200-300 sites in a short period of time.

All I can say is, about two years ago, I wrote a script that needed to query G repeatedly. I recall being limited at the 201st fetch in a 24 hour period (or maybe it was the 251st). I remember testing this a few times on different IPs. Any additional requests from the same ip in that 24 hours were answered with a captcha.

Anyways, it doesn't matter. The Big G has changed a lot in two years. Their algorithms have gotten more complex probably for the reasons you mentioned (people sharing same ip and prevention of spammers / people looking for exploits).

Hell for all I know, G uses clock skew to fingerprint hardware and doesn't even give a shit about IP addresses..

Maybe it was the case years ago, but 200 searches could be done in minutes by a large company.

It happens to me all the time when I run SEO tools at work the whole company has to suffer lol - It's only when running multiple queries very quickly (basically "bot like").

10,000 humans all at once searching I don't think would activate this.

To all folks using Micro Niche Finder (MNF), it uses a background Windows service to sweep Google for some keyword data every now and then. Don't know if it also works when MNF is not running, but the service never shuts down if you activate it - so it very well could be.

While running Market Samurai, don't be surprised if you run into this message as well!
