Clickbank just notified me about their fee changes coming in January 2013. I'm not sure if I should stop using them or not.

Clickbank is known for having the most lenient refund policy, and now they're punishing their affiliates and vendors for it. Matt Cutts is hated for what he's changed in SEO, now CEO of Clickbank Bradley Wiskirchen, will be the next most hated by Clickbank's affiliates and vendors.

They will be adding all of these fees below, on top of their existing fees. Account Risk Fee... Just an excuse to collect some money.

Fuck them. Only make sales from squeaky clean networks until your penalties go down.

I guess Click Bank doesn't want the revenue generated from your sales...The idiots...

This nickel and diming is why I'm looking to get away from Clickbank; moving more towards Amazon and CPA networks.

I think the next best thing to do in this thread is to list other similar sites as clickbank. What about plimus? I have not used them though.

    TIME FOR ALTERNATIVES:

    1) Big boys---Similar to CB without the new nonsense: Paydotcom, Click2Sell, Amazon, CJ, etc

    2) IPA---Info product affiliates that pay immediately to your Paypal: Rapbank, JVzoo, Payspree, Digiresults, etc

Clickbank is not the only one on the market. One network I know is ShareASale, see if they fit you.

There are so many affiliate networks. Some are even based in countries outside the US :)

Buy.at (merging with affiliatewindow), DGM (merging with Commisson Monster), Zanox (has german programs, among others), Tradedoubler (lots of countries)

Clickbank has always had a so-so reputation, and you can do much better.

Clickbank is REALLY WTF. I have 2 accounts.

One of my account was getting $200-300 per day and refund rates were quite rare.
BUT they just recently downgraded my account from GREEN to YELLOW!!!

Reason? Because I was promoting products that have a probable high refund rate, therefore my "predicted" risk was increased.

    WTF!

Some fucked up shit alright and their algo is all over the place. It was obvious from the initial data and CB estimates they published that they based the initial rates on teh data you had exactly 2 months before they made the first announcement. However their algo doesn't really appear to be taking new data into account, and in fact my CB estimate has actually increased, although I immediately culled all the CB generating (make money online) products from my CB promotions as soon as they made the announcement and have had zero CBs in the last 3 months. I am in the red zone btw.

I'll be out of CB by the end of the year and putting up my own (better) products on my own billing (thanks IamNRE!) Fuck CB - it can only get worse and worse from here. I think anyone would be foolish not to abandon ship at this point.

BTW there is already a big thread about this in the clickbank section.

The trend has become apparent; once these IM companies get to a certain size and amass a certain market share, they don't give a flip about their clients. At that point, the money grub is on and they are going to squeeze every nickle and dime from their clients that they can.

They become so arrogant in their success that they don't care about threads such as this. Look at Hootsuite! Thousands of customers have pleaded with Hootsuite to remove the Hootsuite branding from their posts. What was and is Hootsuite's response? Essentially they responded by saying, "GO screw yourselves!"

This is the same thing ClickBank is saying! Go screw yourselves!

Yes, it is time to move on.

Hey Autumn, are you willing to share some details about your own billing? Maybe something similar to 2co?
I was started working on my first CB product, but after all this I'm thinking about best alternatives...

    Thanks in advance!

Yep 2CO is one of the companies I'm going with, and a bunch of others, I'm going with as many as possible initially to see who's the best and to spread out the risk and the payouts. If you are looking for a company where you can do an affiliate split zebrahat already posted some above...
