During the last week I have been trying to PV lot´s of accounts by telephone, all of them using owned private proxies. I became really annoyed when I found out that only 1/5 of the accounts managed to be verified. The guy who run this service is 100% trustworthy, so I began to worry both about my proxies, and any suspicious activity on the accs.

The only unusual issue I could find was that by going into FB security settings I could see that certain accounts were showing my real active location. I did not know if that was enough for not allowing the PV process (as far as I know, you don´t need to have a e.g. UK phone, UK proxy, UK active session location), but it was odd enough to become suspicious.

As I have some experience in removing fingerprints, I first tried finding the trace.

Before going further, I began removing any common tracking resources, changed mac address on both computers, made sure java script was disabled, safe private modes were enabled in browsers, diferent screen resolutions, ...

I checked and tested all available addons (I run the accounts on different firefox profiles), but even supposedly blocking all FB tracking activity, my real location can still be seen on security settings as active.

I tried every possible method I could remember but FB can still detect my real location in all tested accounts.

Anyone is experiencing anything similar on their accounts? Do you know if there is any trick or workaround so I can PV those accs?

That is funny. I use socks4/5, haven't had that kind of problem. This site sometimes detects my real location -> http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Try with proxy, Can they see your real location?

Maybe, bad numbers. Were you verifying via phone or sms?

I´m using private proxies. Whatsmyip, and any other ip location services reveal the true location of the proxy, but FB is detecting my real IP.
The telephone numbers are 100 % ok.

The only possible solutions so far:

    - Facebook may be detecting a certain plugin on firefox which has some kind of unique ID, or even submits geolocation details.
    - My proxies may be leaking certain parameters which make FB suspicious, thus leading to detecting my real ip. I know that they do get a little bit special when it comes to having diff. DNS. I tried setting up OpenDNS just in case, but I could not see any change.

So far, I´m feeling really upset. I don´t mind being tracked as long as I know WTF is tracking me.

Casper want´s to be a ghost again :-(

Or try different browsers, like IE or some older version of FF. One more thing, disable java and flash plugins.

I actually tried few hours ago, they can't see socks5 and reverse ip proxies. Didn't try regular proxy. It have to be some plugin shows your IP ...

Disabling Java and Flash ----> Still FB can see my real IP, only them
Disabling geolocation services in all browser, installing new browsers with no plugins, spoofing manually my geolocation by setting the string geo.wifi.uri to the location of the proxy ---> FB keeps bareback on me

I´m becoming paranoid. I can really feel FB breath on my neck.

What about my ISP provider? I know certain ISPs may leak certain parameters that could track you, specially when they find out weird mismatches on your DNSs

As JDesty say are they socks proxies? HTTP proxies can leak.

I remember lot´s of people stating that socks proxies were much better for FB. So far I´m pretty sure that it has to be some proxy or ISP issue. I´m working on changin my IP details, but so far the only solution I found is turning of the routher for 3 days (bad thing, though positive for a break :).

There used to be a site where you could try http header metasploits in order to check if there was any leakage transfering info. This site has been down for quite a long time, and now the only place where you can check something similar is getting to FB securyty tab and looking at your DAMNED REAL IP LOCATION!!!

FB is the biggest metasploit to these days.

I will continue testing til I sort this out. I´ll keep this post updated with my humble findings.

    Sorted.

I finally managed to find the problem. Ironically, I found the problem via a ip check website, the only one I have found that makes a full analysis on your IP data. Apparently, there was a firefox extension which was leaking my ftp details, thus FB was detecting my IP via this extension.

Yep, from now on... this is the place for testing IPs... I could´nt have found the problem without this site: http://ip-check.info/?lang=en
