How am I going to convince my bank a check from Mauritius is legit? Do banks in the USA even know what a Mauritius Rupee is? Anyone know how I can exchange these for traveler's checks or something?

I once had someone send me a check in Great British Pounds for an ebay sale. I deposited at the bank and got credit for it 2 months later. My small bank had to deposit it in another bank, so a bigger bank may be faster.

Is it bad that I read it at "Mauritian Rufees"? I was thinking "THAT GUY IS GETTING LAID TONIGHT *swish*!"

But seriously if you live in a bigger city, and as people said, as long as the check is legit, you could go to a currency exchange, but good luck trying to find someone to give you money for a person check from an African country.

DAMN, they had an option for a money order (with a 30$ fee) but I bypassed that and went for the check since it was free, obvious why it's free nowww. Hopefully they can swap it out, 30 bucks doesn't sound so bad nowww. Would love to expose this niche BUT it's easier just to hide things in plain sight ;)

Stolen african trial aids medication? Am I getting close to your niche?

In all seriousness though if the check is good any bank will do it, it may take a long time to clear though.

Sorta off topic, but about post above. I was working down in the everglades in S FL, On Alligator Alley mainway from west coast of FL to east coast Miami area. They pulled over a bus that had over a million dollars in aids drugs and around 40k cash. Was a big todo feds setup a command post and there was cops from all over the place and feds etc. Interesting to watch. If I was in the US, I wouldnt sell any drugs unless I had my tracks covered damned good.

Haha, definitely much different interpretation of the word drugs. More like supplements I guess, oooops getting loose lips here LOL! Definitely good they busted those guys, last thing we need is people taking the wrong doses of prescription medicines and eventually making the virus more immune.

Wow 1000 Mauritian Rupees = $30.83 ... Take it to a large bank and you should not have any problems...

I would go with the wire transfer via western union since they will convert it for you..
