I get this a lot when I use public proxies. It means you had to many hits from one IP or proxy within a certain amount of time.

It means, you are running some kind of bot that scrapes google on your home network with a proxy, causing google to put a temp ban on your IP.

It means you've been sending too many requests to them. Have you been using Scrapebox or certain browser plugins (that pull a lot of info about sites)? Are you using a public proxy to browse?

It can be a lot of things but given that this is BHW, I'll recommend that you use proxies to do whatever you are doing to get this message. Problem solved! (but you'll still have to wait an hour or so for the message to go away if this message is for your home IP address) ;)

Usually when I get that it just prompts me with a captcha.

Its usually if you're scraping or doing a lot of advanced sort of searches (inrul, site, etc.) to make sure you're not a bot gobbling up bandwidth.

If you are able to change your IP address then delete cookies (txt and flash) then change IP and you are good to go again.

I get it when it detects too many search requests in quick succession.

Ok here is what I was doing

    1. Using google keyword tool most of the day to look for keywords on this mac
    2. Checking stats against results on this mac
    3. My Windows machine is running Twitter bot adding friends on different IPS 50 - I am using directory bot to submit some URLS and I have AMR running to submit some articles but that is in sleep.

All I did was click "cache" next to a serp to get that.

Google will usually lift this Temporary IP ban in 30-60 mins. Until to access google, you can Try using opera browser in Turbo Mode or use this free VPN Service.

Firefox plugin SEOQUAKE is one of the reasons for getting such a warning.

It's difficult to understand, what's that, without screenshot and description of what you're doing, but it's look like google ban. It happens if make requests to google very often. To avoid this, in SEOQUAKE settings enable cashing.

and certain queries get this error page very fast. (ie: intitle:keyword inurl:keyword etc)
but like edgematch said toolbars such as SEOQuake use a lot of google queries.
