I've been looking at creating a WSO (case study format), but I am stuck between creating an account with all fake information (this would include a new email, IP address, profile pic, etc. - please post anything else I may have left out) or just using my standard, dear I say, accurate information. Being a person who loves to hedge my bets, I figured using fake information will provide me limited liability when dealing WSOs. Before I offend anyone, I'm not planning on writing up a bunch of nonsense or scamming people (I do have a conscious) I'm just trying to separate different aspects of my online businesses as to not total screw myself over.

My question to all you knowledgable blackhatters is, is it worth the trouble to use all fake information or is the accurate information route perfectly fine?

As is the case with all forums, I did use the search function. The only threads I saw had NO answers just random information.

Well if your not posting crap I don't see a problem with real information. But if your worried then use fake information.

I think it is a personal choice - bit like using an author pen name.

I would just make sure you don't nick a pic that can be put in an image search and found to be fake like that Alexa Smith persona on the WF - if potential buyers decide to look you up before buying they shouldn't be able to find anything that shows you're using a fake identity, IMO.

That makes sense. Would your opinions change if I were going for a more creative, blackhat method?

And on a lighter note: Barca, the pen name analogy was exactly what I was going for.

If you are going to use a pen name you can look for a real name with real pic of somebody on a different industry and use that so that if somebody look you up they will find real info about that person.

Keep in mind that it might backfire in the long run specially if you build a list and try to build relationship with them

The best choice is to use your real name specially if you are not doing something wrong.
