just dropped a mug of coffee on my semi new notebook worth a grand.

some buttons ( quickplay from hp ) and mousepad is not working 100%,

before when using the quickplay buttons, the screen went black,

and the battery was displaying empty.

lets see how it'll get, gonna send it to hp and hopefully get it repaired or replaced.

    faak.

anyone else had this kind of experience?

um... u continued using it after you spilt coffee on it? You should have put it upside down and kept it there for a couple days before turning it back on.

Doubt they will repair your computer for free.

I used to work at a compaq warranty repair center and it just depended on our mood if we would fix liquid damage or not. We got one completely soaked in baby oil and repaired it under warranty.

nah, hewlett packard is doing it all for free.

    pickup, repair, bring back.
    or
    pickup, replace, bring new.
as long as you have warranty ( or care pack )
since it's quite new, and i still have warranty. I am not worried about that.

i turned it upside down to get all the shit out ( wasn't too much ) but i started it already. - the quickplay buttons are getting better and the screen does not go black.

the touchpad is still wrecked battery is displaying.

since it's weekend, nothign will happen with the support anyways so i will see how everything works tomorrow or sunday, and then i am gonna submit my request if there's a single little malfunction.

since the warranty is there, i see no point not to use it. but of course i wouldn't say i dropped coffee on it.

seems quite poor for me. my old notebook got more durability. dropped coffee, bier, ash and all on it, and it lasted very long :|
