I am looking for a new theme. I use Nominal (mythemeshop). I like minimalist designs but it only gives me a left or right column and a content area. (that I know of, it could have some hidden stuff I don't know about, I am not a designer)
I have tried the homepage with new posts, with a sort of static page (currently the index), and with sort of synopsis post of the site.
It is time for a change but all the stuff I am seeing is too busy with slots for different ad sizes on the front. I don't need all that confusion. (unless there is a way to get rid of it)
I am referring to Point from mythemeshop

This looks like a theme I might like if it didn't have all the little ad slots everywhere.
I want a theme that will have a spot for a catchy image and then show 3-5 excerpts with images of posts of my choosing. Maybe that will get some people to click through.
It should have all the normal stuff, places to put ads, be responsive (although I don't do much with mobile so that is not critical but speed is important). I send traffic from both Google and Bing to a post on my website that send them to a video landing page. But what i sell is not an impulse buy. It takes some persuasion. Anyway, I cannot imagine anyone reading that post on a mobile phone, a tablet is believable but not a cell phone. It is too long. So responsive is perhaps not that important.
This is the blog, the theme is Nominal. http://ragingalcoholic.com
maybe I can modify this or pay for someone to do it.
(a guy on an affiliate marketing told me my design is old, if it is perceived as not current or up to date. it may be that my customers also perceive my information as not current or up to date, maybe that is hurting my credibility)
the page I send traffic to is here, it is my first attempt at CPA marketing. So if you have any recommendations I can certainly use them. So far I am not doing too well with it. My ads get a decent CTR and visitors go from my post to the video LP but they do not order. I am hoping that is because it takes them some time to warm up to the idea. Maybe I need to add some remarketing to this campaign. I would love to hear your ideas.
