Hi All.

I know this may seem stupid but I'm getting a bit desperate so please ......

I'm experimenting with WP as a CMS and I'm trying to avoid having a static site and a separate blog but I've run into a couple of issues:-

On static pages I don't want the blog stuff , edit, archives, categories to appear but I do want them on the blog pages.

How can this be achieved?

Is there a theme that does this?

If I use static pages separate from WP and just link out from WP I loose WP as the CMS for the static portion of the site and I don't want that.

Many Thanks aamcle

Still thinking about this, can I have two instances of WP? Eg one in httpdocs and one in httpdocs/blog?
One as a CMS on the static part and the other running a blog.

looks like I could do that but it's nasty and clumsy, I really want one theme on the static and another on the blog.....

WHAT IS CMS.. I just have a static website and link everything to it from my blog... maybe I'm doing something wrong... I'm not sure if that's good or bad

use wordpress mu then you can make your main site edit the the theme to link to your blog
