This is a little known, free WP plugin that works like a charme.

Reposter is a quick and easy WordPress plugin that recycles your posts on a schedule of your choosing. This way, even if you do not have new articles or other content to add to your site, the "freshness" factor is still in play so Google will keep spidering, and keep sending visitors too.

All it does is "update" old posts with the current date. Specifically Reposter will find the oldest post in a specific category, and re-date it with the current date and time. It does this on the schedule of your own choosing, which can be as frequently as every 6 hours or as spread out as 10 days. You can also choose to not repost articles and content in specific categories.

This plugin is very self explanitory, but here's a quick overview and screenshot for you:

    1. Install Reposter.php by uploading it to your Wordpress Plugins directory

    2. Log into your WP admin panel, go to the Plugins section and Activate Reposter

    3. Go to the Settings menu in the WP admin panel and click the Reposter link there.

    4. Configure your preferences...

    >>> Remember to change the schedule to something more generic !!! <<<

hey, it just changes the date from old to new. how good would that be? google would already have crawled the post with the older date, whats the point in changing the date and getting it crawled again?

    Very clever idea.

In fact, this a tip that I've read in blogs like problogger. If you can't get an idea to a new post, just look for a really old one for inspiration.

Your plugin is the Black Hat version of that white hat tip ;)

Sounds just like old post promoter. With old post promoter though you can choose to look for posts older than 30 days, 60, 120 and set the time intervals too.

This is brilliant - it doesn't duplicate an old post, it just redates it and puts it to the top of the pile again and repeats the process automatically.

The XML sitemap is updated as well. Do it often enough and googlebot will get to have all your pages indexed, instead of just a percentage.

So simple, yet so goood..... :)

Try to use the reposter in combination with the Auto Social Poster bookmark submitter. Everytime a post gets repostet, ASP will submit it to the bookmarking sites aswell :)

Just to check if the posts get re-posted, will it affect the initial post/page search ranking?
