Hi all, I got wp o matic, which is a pretty good plugin apart from the occasional multiple post, and changed a few lines of code to make it translate first into one language then into a second one and then back to english. The stuff that comes out is like something written by a foreigner at medium proficiency of english but is unique enough.

The whole point of the translations was to make the rss scrapes unique enough to post and be able to be indexed. My question is, will google figure it out and penalize it as spam or duplicate content?

Usually, they won't find out about it but the content will ahve a lot less value to your readers and visitors. Usually if you give the viewers the content they want, the more they will stick around and hopefully click your ads.

Google may get smart in the future, but for now I don't think they can catch this. Of course it would fail a human test, but the odds of that happening are like 1/100000

Lies, the odds are way lowerr than 1/100000.
What iv'e done with autogenerated crap content is simple. slap an ad right in their face when they get in. That solves whatever problem they searched for, looking for etc. That way you can funnel the traffic to a real site, or even directly to the merchant.

But you scale this up, you will get slapped by google, and you won't need 100k blogs for that to happen. So try to keep your footprints low.

    Enjoy.

The reason i ask is because i am using all the automated posts to try to drive up the pagerank of a few well written pages which are on the same blog, and it was working perfectly, i was already 20 in google, when all of a sudden that page is no longer ranking for the main keyword, also, if i look it up by title its not showing, its like its sandboxed but the rest of the site is fine and ranking properly in google serps. Any ideas?
