Many of the blogs have links in their posts, is it possible to fetch those feeds without those links, just text and images ?

Do you want to add your own links or just delete the existing ones?

Would this also disable images if we are not hotlinking them?

you can decide which tags you want to remove and which to keep, follow the guidelines in php manual.

You'd better code a plugin for that ;)
Better usage and reliability, and no need to touch to the core of the script :)

I agree. You might want to try a plugin that filters the content and removes all anchor tags from start to end from the content. That should leave your img tags in tact.

I think you might be able to use "rewrite' function of the plugin.Just re-write part of the imported message where actual link is posted .For example if you set the rule to re-write 'http' to '...' it might work.Although it still will leave remaining of the url there.I use this trick with removing g00gle advertisement from imported blogs.
Of course you can program a new plugin if you know how to or hire someone to do it.

To remove the links but keep pictures you can use regex for this.
In the campaign screen go to rewrite. Then in the Origin box put #</?a[^>]*>#iu
Check the regex box and check the rewrite to box.. Thats it. Now your feeds should still have the pictures and text, but all the HTML code stripped.

You can use yahoo pipes regex function, they will work like a charm, only text and images...

Autoblogged doesn't remove links does it? I just got a copy of it the other day and haven't had a chance to mess around with the templates much..

Irie08 can you post your sample template?

I was about try it but since you mentioned that it also strips the permalink code, then I will look for another workaround.

I use CC for the articles and I edited the article template to not show the author and link to their site. It also does show the picture.

Another thing I use is a plugin called wp unique it is suppose to somehow make the article look unique to the search engines and it has a spinner included.

So I just search for a good looking review of a product and the post it and sometimes I'll spin it and sometimes I'll leave it like it is.
