Since i am the coder of Hotfeed, here some info:
If you use hotfeed you STILL want an autoblogger plugin since hotfeed only returns a RSS feed - you still want to read the hotfeed RSS and put it on your blog as a real posting.
I chose this route since its more flexible as opposed to releasing another autoblogger with HF "built in".
Hotfeed --> Autoblogger plugin which can read RSS: Should be the chain.
Over the holidays i was doing some experimenting, making a few new hotfeed powered sites, testing new themes and rewriting some existing autoblogger plugins.
As for wordpress, there is an issue which prevents certain HTML tags (like Youtube Video OBJECTS!) being embedded when a cron jobs runs and automatically posts.
[Wordpress strips out OBJECT tags by default with external posting. But i found what to mod there and i might release a special pack in the future consisting of the modded Wordpress file + Autoblogger + HF for total autoblogging fun

The best autoblog plugin which can read RSS feeds is hands down YAAB (i tested about a zillion autoblogger plugins, believe me

) - even WProbot would only read ONE entry of the RSS feed and it would not embed videos either. YAAB is hands down the best autoblogger for that purpose.
Right now i have some new sites running and testing them, how well they get indexed, server load, things like that.
