It's almost like a prank, it doesn't seem real. That is so so poor.

There would be calls to someone higher up if this was me. I would be probably a lot more frustrated than that guy as well.

Is this real? I almost have a hard time believing that's not a fake call.

EDIT: Apricot beat me to it

    It actually looks real!

    Code:
An extraordinary recording of a phone call with Comcast, posted by tech journalist Ryan Block, reveals a rep who simply wouldn't accept that a customer would want to disconnect.

I've had people like that on the phone more than once.. if you ask me, that guy is on drugs. I seriously hate people who don't accept the fact that YOU as a client don't owe them any explanation.

    Amazing.

I am surprised the called never asked for the guy's name and stated he would be making a complaint unless the guy completed the cancellation.

    That usually does the trick.

I am assuming as he is recording the call he was deliberately being calm and giving the guy free rein to see how long it would go on for.

EDIT: I just heard him ask for the guy's name at the very end - hehe.

If it's real then this is the most likely scenario, he did know the agent's name but had he not been recording he likely would have escalated to a supervisor.

I hate companies like that, I've had that happen to me a few times but not to that extent they usually just say "Well if you stay with us you can receive free hd channel!"

As well as every major laptop manufacturer. Send a laptop to Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc and you can kiss your data goodbye most of the time even if you sent it for an issue not related to data.

I recently cancelled my Sprint account by phone and it wasn't this bad. I don't get why they don't let you cancel online instead of having to talk to someone.

I could not understand why this guys been with Comcast for 9 years but couldn't give even a simple explanation.

But then I read his soundcloud where he says the first 10 minutes of the call his wife was on the phone. And for 10 minutes she kept telling them why she was canceling and the rep just kept repeating "please don't cancel your service".

That was when the husband took over and stopped answering the question.

I don't think we can blame the customer service rep for all of this. He was just doing his job and following orders. I would imagine that they have strict instructions from "Corporate" on how to handle calls.
