Would you use a VPS for your SEO tools (SB, Xrumer, BMD, etc)?

    HI there,

I've been seriously considering a more productive way to run my campaigns since I cannot really leave my computer on 24/7, and I am getting a bit worried my IP address might get banned since it's a static one.

So I was thinking if a VPS would be answer to this run:

    - Scrapebox
    - Bookmarking Demon
    - Xrumer
    - Article Marketing Robot (I only use it occasionally, so I don't think it's relevant)
    - SEnukeX

Also, I have private proxies which I intend to use in the VPS but I am not sure if this is something doable from the technical point of view?
Are you currently doing this? And if so, what?s your experience? could you recommend a good VPS?

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated :)

    Thanks a lot

LOL. You're asking today what I've just got answered few days ago. Every single question!

(Don't get me wrong. Not to say "hey guy, use the search buttom". Just find it funny that a lot of us are following each other's footsteps, as lemmings :))

If all those nice mates who stopped to help me last days are right (and I believe they are, for most are reputable members here), big YES to every of your questions.

    ----------------------------------
Though there are many good hosting companies offering VPS (particularly in your country) most of them are not blackhat-friendly. Here you go a list of friendly hosts I've gathered together after reading some threads over here:

    • HostWinds
    • Xsserver
    • Hostamus
    • Spamahost
    • Kimsufi
I haven't checked any of them yet (I'm just one step ahead of you in this, LOL). All I know is that Hostwinds hosts this very forum and both Hostamus and Spamahost have their own sale threads here, I think.
    ----------------------------------

Hope it helps! Hit me if you need further explanation

You will definitely improve your output with a VPS and these tools, as they keep running 24/7 and you just need to configure them and let them run on your vps.
Then you can check the reports afterwards. So you can do other things on your PC.

I've been using a vps with scrapebox, VenomSEO, tweetattacks. And its been awesome to take a load off your PC and know that work is being done on your VPS. And VPS are really cheap and you'll definitely make more to cover your costs.

There's just so much you can do with a good VPS.

    Good luck

I can't cover all the tools on your list, you may have to decide what OS to use - Win or Unix, personally I use 2 instances of SB from your list plus a few other programs on a Win2003 VPS, practically 24/7 and I wouldn't do it any other way. I still use my comp over my crappy ISP's connection for some stuff, but in most cases I can shut it down for the night.

There is a definite advantage to using a vps, most of them you've already heard, to me the biggest one is the better connection.

You may want to use a vps that is expandable - e.g. you can choose more ram without much hassle, or more space. In most cases (but not always) you get what you pay for. In my case I use it only for my own stuff, so I opted for a cheapest vps I could find; if I was offering a service - I'd probably chose a dedi.

How's Blackbox RDP these days? I think they're blackhat friendly. They even have a coupon code scrapebox or something.

Very insightful, and thanks to everyone for giving your POV.

Also, "kenwithblue" of course I have used the search function but I only had partial answers to my questions. In any case, I appreciate your response, it' great how ppl in this forum are supporting one another.

Now, I will do a bit of research around VPS costs, service, etc. (starting with the ones mentioned earlier)

    Have a great day

I am using a VPS service with tools included such as SEnuke X and Scrapebox just to name a few and it's relatively cheap.

I think if you have the budget for a VPS then you should definately use one for your tools.

Really for a few main reasons

+ so as to not hog your home pc
    + run 24/7
+ you can use their IP - or use proxies - so not to just spam your own home IP
    + alot of times faster
+ protect your business so if your power or internet are out - likely your tools are still going... until you reconnect

I recommend buying the products and not using hacked versions - as in my experience hacked versions are usually older versions that have issues - although this is not always true.

So yeah I use Hostamus the $40 a month plan -- cheers

Sorry one more question to everyone...

I guess you also need to install an antivirus to avoid unpleasant surprises from those URL's containing viruses and malware, please confirm?

could you please ellaborate more on this? spending quite a lot of money on proxies every month, so it might be worth consolidating this.

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a VPS too.

    My main considerations are:
    1) Stability
    2) Speed
    3) Support
    4) Windows Server 2008 (include in package)
    5) Mainly to run AMR, BMD, ScrapeBox, SEOLR & Venom SEO (own licenses)
    6) Budget of around $60-$80/month

    Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

If you ordered from me you wouldn't need to have antivirus because I do free reformats.

However it is probably a good idea to have one.

You can get the following from me for $81 per month using promotion code 10RECURRING

    5.3 Ghz CPU (2x2.66 Ghz)
    3072MB DDR3 Ram
    150 GB Hard Disk
    12TB Bandwidth *UNLIMITED INBOUND TRAFFIC*
    1GB Port
    Windows 2008 Standard Edition

They have a thread in the warrior forum. I am signed up with their $20 a month vps and i love it!

It's the cheapest package (only 512 ram) however I still run NHSEO in the background 24/7 along with tweetattacks and usually 1 more program and have had no problems.

I thought about upgrading to one with 1gb ram or more but frankly there is no need unless I want to run like 5 tools at a time. If I need to run one of the more memory extensive tools I can just shut down NHSEO and just run that tool by itself. For $20 a month this is a great deal to any IMER that wants their own VPS for cheap to start with.

Yeah, I also found that. But the last few posts have been negative. But thanks for the feedback. At least I know that the cheapest package can run a couple of SEO tools without any problem. Right now, I'm just looking to use it for SB and maybe BMD later on.
