The past few months I was working with an SEO company and I decided to drop them for a variety of reasons but some of which that they only used PBN'S which people here noted was a red flag and they said I don't get to the keep they PBN's they make if I ever stop working with them so I decided f them and am going with more varied strategy.

They ended up being a waste of money though cause they didn't leave me with a single of the sites they worked on. Do you think a company like this would retaliate if left a bad review? I'm thinking of leaving a review in a couple months so they don't know it's from me.

What you all think? This isn't an attack on them but I could save sites like mine from wasting money with them.

    Thanks

Sometimes it's easier to just walk away. Perhaps voice your displeasure with them privately before going public. It's possible they could retaliate with neg seo, but that would then give you further reason to 'out them'.

If you are 100% that this happend because of them you can leave ahonest review so every client will know the risk, also that if you paid good money.
I mean, to be honest, if you picked someone who sold you links in exchange of 100$ overall then this can be the problem

It was an SEO company. They rank in top 5 for some competitive SEO keywords so I thought they seemed good and their work wasn't so bad but overall it was just nice looking PBN's with some okay metrics but after speaking with them and seeing that they remove the sites they build if you stop working with them I decided it wasn't worth the investment anymore so I'm going now for more links on real sites.

Did they actually rank your site after X months as promised or not?

If they lied I would leave a review.

If they were honest and you just decided you did not like renting PBN links from someone for XXX, that just sounds like a bad business decision.

    Just my 0.02.

They got me to the bottom of page 2 after around 7 months and during that time also required some good links myself as well. It took months longer than they said it would take though and during the last few months it was not moving past position 12-10. A couple times I had keywords around position 9 but that didn't last long.

Competition and how much did you pay per month? And did they promise results?

7 months for a single term by a real 'Agency' seems excessive for most KWs an agency would accept. Most agencies I have had the pleasure (Or displeasure) of speaking with will tell you flatly they can't rank a KW like 'Acne' in three months.

If you were going after a Medium Competition KW and after seven months got nothing, I would be less than happy.

If I were in your position (And telling us all the details may not be wise), I would follow my gut but wait some time before 'exposing' anyone. If I am thinking you are the right user, you seem smart and ask the right questions so I do not think this is a case of you expecting someone to rank a 1 million search term with 20 Authority Websites all targeting the KW. Under that assumption seven months sounds excessive for the only results being page two.

Then again, only you and the Agency knows exactly what happened. For the sake of your privacy and not wanting to put a company on blast before you are ready, I would skimp on details and make the decision you are comfortable with. Trying to help someone else from making the same mistake you did at the risk of your site may feel like the right thing but may come off as a terrible business decision.

Thanks lightningblitz. I will definitely give it some time, even months before considering leaving a review to keep it safe. It was 1,000 a month though for medium competition keywords with around 700-800 searches a month for some of the main keywords. They are worth ranking for though cause some big businesses order this stuff but it isn't a keyword that has hundreds of serious competitors for. The main competition is somewhere around 4-6 sites for these keywords we were targeting. We are up against some Amazon pages too but the main idea is beating out the other niche sites in the serps.

Also they admitted from the get go they can't guarantee rankings but the guy kept saying that I should see results in the next few weeks and he said this for something like 3 months in a row and I also suspect the method of just using PBN on the SEO guys side could possibly lead to a penalty at some point so I've switched strategies now to try to get on as many big sites as possible in my industry that will allow articles and guest posts.

I used a company called BeRanked. terrible company. Complete waste of money.

I doubt they will retaliate, and if they do - you can hit them back at their currently ranking great site. Make note of the PBNs they used for you, just in case.

Basically when you buy an SEO service, you get an onsite and offsite, the offsite is paid on month to month basis. Imagine that PBNs are like flats, SEO company gets x amount of money for renting links on each flat, if you stop paying the 'rent' it's normal for them to remove the links, if you rented a flat you wouldn't want to get the flat itself when you stopped paying the rent, would you ?

P.S. If they haven't ranked you top3 in 7 damn months, then they suck.

Don't slander them, just post an honest review about your experience - or perhaps take a bit more time to speak with them about it first - without being aggressive.

Perhaps you need to compare your results with what they originally agreed and see how much the two differ in order to see whether you have grounds to complain or not.

Don't waste your time by harboring this for months so you can leave an anonymous review though - otherwise the situation is just doing YOU even more damage. Make the decision now and either act or forget it.

You can always leave a honest review, I do that regardless who I buy from, if they promise results and don't deliver I post a negative review, if they deliver and everything is as promised I leave a good review. I give a fuck about people that try to cheat me or talk a lot but don't deliver results there are many of them here on BHW actually the wast majority of BST's are like this.

However, I have found good people here too, they deliver always and walk an extra mile for you.
