I'd like to hear some of your thoughts on this domain that I've been offered to be used for a tier 1 site. It's a short two word 10 year old PR3/DA30/PA36 domain for $75.

Easy buy, right? The problem is that it's apparently been deindexed for whatever reason.

    Two questions:

    1. Can this be pulled back into the light or should it be considered DOA since it's deindexed?
    2. In general, would you use a deindexed domain for a tier 1 site?

Why go through the process of fixing the deindexing issue when there are so many decent domains you can get out there that do not require a new motor and transmission?

    I'd pass.

That's a valid point, but assuming that it was deindexed simply because it's been inactive for a few months, would you still pass?

Yup, there may be something that you are not seeing there and for that reason I'd be looking elsewhere.

If domain was deindexed just because was inactive few months, then he must go to index just through 2-5 days.
If domain not come back to index through this is time - then he was deindexed for another reason.

Look at the backlink profile and the history of the domain on https://archive.org/web/

If the anchor text is not spam, has good links (no blog comment spam), and it looked like a real website in archive then I would get the domain.

Its most likely been deindexed because it was inactive for a while.

All my expired domain I purchase get index pretty quick, I never purchased a bad domain following the above checks.

check the trust flow too its a very strong indicator for a good domain and make sure the anchor text isnt heavily spammed.

I was able to get the price down to $50, so I bought it. Let's consider it a $50 bet, I'm curious to see how it performs.

I did check archive.org and it was an actual blog until about two years ago when it became an empty wordpress site, and then inactive. The original author guest posted on a PR4 site and that backlink is still there. I'm going to revive the old blog since it has a ton of original content and start with that. Might be the easiest tier site I've built yet.

How it's held its pagerank so long I have no idea.

Thanks for your input everyone, I appreciate your time!
