Well I'm a musician and I want to sell my music On-line... The problem is I'm not sure about investing on web hosting/Domain name because I'm not sure if I'm gonna be successful.

The other problem is that I'm from Colombia and Paypal doesn't work here... what can I do about this... I have some family in the US and maybe they help me with this (maybe) but I should have kind of a detailed guide of how to...

By the way its a metal band so is not very commercial.

    1. Wrong attitude. If you want to be successful, you have to KNOW that you gonna be successful.
Get the domain and website! Learn SEO.

    2. Make a Youtube account and start posting your stuff with proper keyword research. Novadays that's how people get famous and rich :)) (look at Justin Bieber)

    3. Make Facebook account and start making friends.

    4. DO IT NOW!

Many people nowadays release their music for free in order to garner hype around them.

Post on YouTube and just get a free blog. Myspace and Facebook!

If you not sure if your gonna be successful, the best thing for you to do is go get a job and live pay check to pay check that's the best thing for you at this point. The music Industry is not for the weak.

You can pay for everything with a credit card. You need a domain and hosting. You can even use a payment processor like Clickbank if you want--so you can accept paypal and major CCs but receive payment via check or direct deposit.

I'd offer you more advice but I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for :p

Have you heard of audiojungle? That's where I buy all my music for the web informercials I create. That site gets plenty of traffic.

You need a payment processor and all of them will have various fees and sometimes activation fees. CB seems like the simplest, easiest, and overall best option for you, because they specialize in digital products. If you don't expect to make $50 from one album, perhaps you shouldn't go into business--because your expenses might build up and you may lose money. :)

There are some really good suggestions & ideas here.

I think another alternative you might want to think about is ebay.
Go on there & see what other musicians are doing to sell their music.

The music business is very harsh. I'm a musician myself, and I know firsthand.
One of the keys is to get exposure for yourself & your band.
These days, it's very, very easy to do - on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.

Let me think... Here are a few things you could do:
    1. Just record your band playing/practicing/performing.
If you're any good, this should be easy & fun for you.
    2. Create your own YouTube Channel. It's fast, fun & free!
Upload your videos on to there.
    3. Make your own Facebook Fan Page for your band.
Make sure you speak in both English & Spanish.
The fact that you're a Colombian Metal Band es fantastico, compadre.
Yo se que la musica mas linda viene de su pais. Me encanto Colombia
(especialmente por las mujeres mas bonitas, jajaja).

Anyway - where was I? Oh yeah...
Make sure you post content, facts, etc. about your band on there.
This is a way you can get started now w/out a website & still get exposure.

    4. As soon as you can, go ahead & at least BUY your domain name.
Hopefully, your band's name is still available. Get it while you can!
If you buy it from GoDaddy or wherever, just Google a coupon before you
finalize your purchase. You'll save some $$!.
I personally buy my domains from 1and1.com, because they're cheaper
and they give you Private Domain Registration for FREE!
Just don't get your hosting from them. I recommend Hostgator when you're ready.

    5. On your Facebook Fan Page, you can post when & where you'll be gigging.
Get as many people to 'Like' you as possible. Tell your friends.
Put up flyers. Do what you've gotta do.
Again, if you're any good, you'll attract some attention. Maybe even
a manager will want to sign you. You never know.

    6. Invest back in to your band to get a CD cut.
Have an agreement w/ your bandmates that a certain percentage
will go in to investing in yourselves. It's a bitch, but that's what you've gotta do
till you make it. AFter that, you've just gotta stay good & give people
    what they want.

    Whew!

I hope that gives you some ideas there that you can get busy on.
The whole point of all this is to take some ACTION! Don't hesitate.
Do something. Even if you screw it up, you'll learn something in the process,
and will come out better for it.

    Te deseo lo mejor,

    BigDaddy
