Would increasing clicks from people clicking your site in google rank you higher?

Say you are on page 12 if you were to get tons of people to go and click on your website on page 12 would google rank you higher? I am really curious about this.

    Thanks.

In fact, no one knows the exact formula on how google calculate the pagerank, but this might give you a clue:

i would say that clickthroughs from search probably do affect it.

I also agree with that. To me its telling google hey this site knows what they are talking about and the people are going out of there way to get there. I don't know. Well I have a couple of ideas and I will update you guys on what goes on.

Not sure how much weight it really gives, but I assume it's part of the algorithm. Bounce rate once they get to your page is also important.

theres no way for them to track the bounce rate so it shouldn't matter at all.

Make sure your not log on to Gmail, Gmail logs all your clicks.

P.S. it might help for awhile, but The G is smart so don't over do it.

    The answer is no.

If you could increase rank by clicking on search results then Google would be swarmed by spammers - Google uses clickthru data for behavioral tracking but not for ranking

Yea I don't believe that either. Google is smart they probably would de-index the sites the spammers are promoting. I am taking it easy with my approach.

i said i didn't believe that it wouldn't work. I DO think it will work. they must base rank partially on clicks. it just makes sense.

they know because when you click a link in their search engine javascript sends info about the click to their servers. even if it wasnt javascript i think the web server is capable of detecting this. anyway it is obviously being done.

Quickly looking in the source of the google search results I can see href link. So there is no feedback back to them...
