As the thread title says, would there be interest for edu.xx domain names? If yes, how much would people pay for an edu domain name? What if you could get one with your exact keyword/s? :)

The .xx make the .edu the same with .com so, not much of a value there..

This is what I know, but maybe I'm wrong so is someone have information about that please step forward.

    Thank you

Around a couple of years ago, they were selling the latest 'hot' .edu.xx method, on IM forums. The fact there was even at least one WSO should give you a clue. ;)

Essentially it was a method to register new .edu.pl domains (Polish educational domains).

Traditionally, .edu websites only have value if they have gained authority, usually with age and trust. So, the 'sellers' who were selling this 'new .edu.xx method' were effectively saying you could get ".edu" sites and links on the back of this idea.

.edu.pl domains have the same value as any new sub-domain, i.e. not much. If I really wanted to rank a new Polish site in g**gle.pl, then I'd choose a .pl (top level) domain, not a sub-domain like .edu.pl.

I don't think there is any value left for edu.xx domains in 2012!

A quick example is www.edu.ms/ where in you get a free domain and free web hosting for the cost of some popups on your page. So I would still use them for some link diversity but would not expect much from it in return to be honest.
