Would An Email list of Every Student In A Specific College Be Worth Anything?

Okay so here is the deal, I have the ability (It would probably take me a week to organize everything) to retrieve every single students email address that goes to my college. Keep in mind these email addresses are @.edu and are given to every student who enrolls at the college I go to. Students are very active at checking these emails as this is how the school and teachers contact the students on a weekly basis. Anyway would these emails be worth anything as in selling the list or would I be better off sending them my own offers and having someone else mass email them for me? Obviously I could probably email them a cpa offer that includes an email submit scholarship entry and make bank. Are their any risks involved, obviously these emails are majorly targeted and are completely unspammed.

The major risk is they are likely gmail email accounts, so to make sure the messages get out of the spam folder to their inboxes you'll need to send from a .edu email, which will be the email you're linked to... Could cause a problem with you and the IT department.

But a tip is you can use a regular account, make it look normal, and include keywords like college name and school and assignment, etc. At least my school's filter looked for those type of words in determining if the mail was spam or not.

Do you think If I bought a couple .edu emails from a supplier and used them to slowly send emails I could bypass the problems?

He already said they are @.edu which would NOT be gmail.
    :yield:[IMG]

Just get you an edu domain and use wildcard email and SLOWLY send email and get bucks.

    Enjoy ..... :cool2:

Actually they are gmail. Its hard to explain they are .edu but we go through the gmail email service. I wonder if our .edu emails are actually redirected to a gmail account.

Of course they are worth something. It depends how you use them, be creative. What do students like? Booze, Sex, and to make life easier and fun on campus. Can do it a legit way, or blackhat way.

Make an offer for an on campus pub/bar/store, get people to click on advertisements on a landing page, offer a coupon. Make them fill something out to get offers. Something quick, students are impatient and stupid..they will refer a friend quickly since its not their main e-mail. Contact the owners of the pub/stores on campus and ask them if you can advertise for free, or even for a small cut if successful.. (most don't say no to free, just get approval to use their name, or just cut them totally out)

Oh, btw, students like credit and money. Get them to sign up to online banking , and take the refferal bonus, I dunno, be a financial consultant for students. Get them to sign up to shit, and then some more shit!

Thanks guys for the input I have a few ideas turning in my head. My question is do I hire someone to send the emails or do i do it myself? Do i need to purchase a .edu email account to make sure all my emails make it to their inbox?

Yeah all schools basically in the US have .edu emails, but the whole system runs through Google apps, so it's on a gmail dashboard with gmail features.

I personally would hire someone to send them. If you can get a .edu email or two, make sure to throw in some keywords like I mentioned too. Also limit the # of outbound links in the email. I'd really just test a .edu email you buy first. Send various emails to your own school email from it. Then buy another .edu email and based on what you learned/tested you'll almost know 100% they'll make it into the inbox.

Just one thing though how exactly do you buy a .edu email? If you can you should be set, but never heard of that before...

Think Local... Are there any bars, clubs, movie theaters, liquor stores, restaurants that would want to reach the local college market? Of course there are! find a local restaurant and charge them to send out pormotion/coupons...

Is it legal for me to charge local companies to send emails to the students? Also I have an email account that belongs to the school so i could test send emails to myself. Does cpa networks allow mass sending like this.

That works until they ask how you are going to market to them...

"Uhhh I just scraped everyone's email at the university and am going to send them illegally"...

OP that's why I recommended hiring someone to send, besides, sending 30k emails in a day (large university), isn't an easy task...

@Op pm me with the name of your university. If it matches my requirement we could make a deal.

    Cheers!!!
