I got mail from Chase banking today with a coupon saying if I open a personal checking account I get a bonus $125 Gift card. The back of the coupon says "Customer must deposit at least $100 of new money within 60 days of account opening. Bonus will be deposited within 10 business days after the minimum deposit is made." Could I just take off all the money and then close the account?

It's your call mate, remember that it's 125$ gift card, not really money in the bank, you surelly will need to spend a lot more than 125$ to actually use the card.

Read the info on where can you spend the gift card and the conditions, before doing it just for it.

My guess is there may be a catch on the type of account and fee's and a condition on how long you must keep the account for. I would look further into the details.

Also this isn't the right section for that!

Well no it's not a source of income if that's what your hinting at. It's not a way to make a quick $125 and run away. It's just an incentive to open a bank account with chase. If you were looking to open a bank account, but didn't know who to open it with, why not choose chase with this bonus they are offering? There are probably hidden fees though. Chase checking has fees if you don't make 10+ transactions a month I believe. I'm in no way affiliated with chase.
