It just goes to show the potential some of this shit we create has if we put its use to good rather than evil ;)

9.5 million installs in a couple of days

    Full story here

Its worth noting that there was NO form of monetization on this app. he "just made it for fun"

I wouldn't say it's a modified CPA scam. The idea is great, the question is - are they going to use all the information they have gathered so far in a blackhat way at some point.

it's a share & like button with a bunch of other junk thrown in
It's a novelty concept that got a lot of media attention but didn't make the creator any money

I shared this app in download section.

Yeah it is pretty crazy! It actually isn't a cpa scam without widget, it is the original. Some awesome member of Cp@lead just stole it and sold it as a CPA "scam". Also it did not get 9.5M likes or installs in a couple days, it has been a few weeks now.

I was the first to successfully use it for BH. I actually was notified of this around the 24th of October. It had just over 1M likes, but was growing at a crazy rate. I knew I had to figure something out fast. Just before Halloween it was getting 1M likes per day. By Thursday night I had figured out a plan to just iframe the original site, and use CSS to position my like button over the original one. Also I had the share button that I tried a few different ways including having it come up and block the "real" share button, to having it always on the page, to having it come up during the video, ect. I even have the actual SWF, it did not make a difference.

I did a lot of split testing too and I can say that it is very hard to get this to go viral. Not many FB users are fine with allowing many permissions.

A few BH marketers found my site, and even though they could have ripped it easier, I had a DDOS attack and a brute force against my server on Sunday night, although it appeared they were unsuccessful.

Monday afternoon this was on CP@lead marketplace and within a day it was saturated. It made decent profit Friday through Sunday, but I couldn't get any to easily go viral after that, and I heard they are all getting deleted before they will go viral now.
