I bought it early on before they became world champions. Now I'm looking to use it to get traffic and make money. I could use a cpa offer for sports merchandise and to sell season tickets for next year. Would it be a throwaway domain or would it be a ongoing income site? It's a .com and think baseball. Any suggestions or new ideas?

I own this domain philliesworldchampion.com Would it be a good idea to put up a forum and sell merchandise or would it be better to sell it to fan?

You can build something out of it but just be aware that it could be pulled at any time because it is a Trademarked name. I've stayed away from those because I have lost so many of them over the years.

You could keep it low key for now and then once the season starts again, just start pushing the tickets etc then...you may fly under the radar and make some money.

I disagree. Push it as hard as possible... ride the wave while it lasts. If they DMCA the domain, take it down... otherwise, make as much as you can, as quickly as you can.

There are good margins in tickets, that is why I say get it built, linked up etc and then push it hard closer to next season as game dates are set and tickets become available. If you have a site that ranks well and looks good, you will make the money. Anyway, it all comes down to how you want to market it and what kind of money you are hoping to make. Good luck with it.

Playing around a trademarked name is not that a good idea..after all....Why leave in constant fear of getting penalized.....

Man there must be a ton of Sporting affiliate programs you could monetize with this site.

How about getting them to sign up to a cpa trial offer in exchange for a subscription to Sports Illustrated???

Fathead has a kickass affiliate program, my friend has been using it on his NASCAR site with success.

You gotta look man, sports is huge!

Guys, this thread is 4 months old and the domain is free to be registred now.
