So why are you posting some random SEO article about some random startup companies in Indonesia?

Because I think it is interesting for community here.

So, why do you reply if you don't have anything to say?

Nice article man. That's a nice blog you found there, it has some few other good texts worth reading if you have the time.

It is shitty that they made business from it and they charge some high prices to stay with them.
But I love idea about having shared community place for digital nomads in some of eastern countries, next to beach and parties.

Imagine if someone here make JV kind of post and say something like this:

"I found house in Bali for $xy/month and I'm inviting other members from BHW to apply with their CV in order to make community project for period of 3 months. We can share all expenses equally and work or not on projects together..."

Something really similar was tried (done?) here on BHW a long time ago but with a house in Las Vegas instead, I think even some Exec. VIPS where involved in the idea.

I'm not sure what happened with that.

I was thinking of doing something similar at the end of the year! I'm thinking somewhere beautiful that's just an inspiring place to be and that we can have a lot of fun in our spare time, where equally we can get our heads down, concentrate on the work and bounce ideas off each other. Would you be interested? Where do you currently live, where do you think would be the best place to go? I'm thinking CHEAP!

I think that Thailand is right choice. It is cheaper then Bali, it is nice and fun.
Maybe you can start new thread and invite people to join, but first make some rules...
Is it just place sharing project, or is it project sharing...etc..
It can be even organized as project JV deal...for example if you are expert in mobile marketing and want to make community with other mobile marketers...

    FAAAAAACCCCK!!!

    This is my dream.

I live in Ireland and we are just coming out of yet another dull, dark, depressing winter.

I said a few days ago I cannot stand another winter here so I am thinking of getting outta here come, say, next October. I was thinking of the Canaries (Tenerife - mid 20 degree celcius all year round) but if a group was formed on BHW it would be awesome, and very interesting...

My skills are: Web design, graphic design & affiliate marketing (mostly Amazon).

    Keep me updated dudes...

Interesting read cheers OP! A friend of mine is big into ebay makes good money with it, he moved to bali around 8 months ago hasn't looked back. Hes also an avid surfer though and bali is the spot to be for surfers I'm told!

@natewex: I know them feels man, winter here sucks bad! I try to get away from it as often as I can. The canaries are amazing we were going to move there recently (lanzarote) until a business deal I had out there went sour, sun all year round what more do ya want!? Plus its mostly English, German and Irish expats out there so its easy to get those home comforts you wouldn't get in main land Spain like for example "Gravey" lol when I lived in Madrid I had to get Gravey granules posted to me!

I don't know about living there but I wouldn't mind an extended stay there for a few months to focus and do some networking.

It's correct that Bali still have great surfing sites.
Forget about the usual areas such as Kuta, Nusa Dua, and Sanur. Heck, I would say you can forget about Ubud either.
There are great surfing spots in Bali than only few locals and few foreigners know, such as Padangpadang.

The key when traveling to Bali is to forget those 5-stars hotel, get a cheap one, you will have more interaction with the locals and generally having a better time.

What I could add is staying in Indonesia is really cheap, don't trust people (locals or not locals) that charge you high prices. Foreigners visiting Bali should not cobble up in one place, you don't need security through unity here, in Bali it is generally very safe. If you prefer Ubud, there are lots of hostels around. A lot of them can give you discounts if you rent in for a whole year. A lot of surfers in Padangpadang rent a house/room for a whole year, although they only stay around 4 months, at most.
What sucks from Bali is its slow Internet connection. The other parts? All of them are great.

I am a Balinese, and yes Bali is a great place to live.
But if you're an "Internet" Marketer, you will find Bali (or Indonesia generally) sucks. Indonesia's internet connection is the slowest in whole Asia.

So, you need to organize stuff and to work only with email.
