Can you do this in wordpress?

I want to show the sub categories under my category page.

If you click on my category authors,

I want the category page to show all my subcategories which are the author names.

I thought this should be pretty standard, this is a huge weakness for wordpress if this can't be done. Spent a few hours searching - no luck.

I found that too, i think that is just for sidebar. I don't have the categories in the sidebar i have it a menu at the top of my page. I want it so when you click the category you get taken to the category page which will show the sub category links.

im not sure, i thought it was for the widget. I want certain categories to function like an index. For example: If you click the sport link it will take you to the sport category page with links to all the sub categories under sport.

You'll need to hack your theme.

    Try this plugin,

    wordpress-dot-org/extend/plugins/weefzs-show-post-subcategories/

    (sorry, can't do links yet)

Wordpress Weakness - Yes this is a major weakness in being able to use wordpress as a fully functional CMS.

    Can you tell me otherwise?

I am asking for help on this topic and also willing to pay, start thinking and stop questioning me.

Looks like a slightly dated post. But what you want be done with a little coding. You will have to create pages for each category. And on the page, add loop to spit out the sub categories.

I believe wordpress(codex) does have the hooks to do this in a few lines of code.

You could easily make it so that the sub-categories are a drop-down menu.
