    Whats your thoughts on this?

Do you think Google prefers Wordpress sites or HTML sites?

I'm about to build a site that nearly every page will have a different layout, so I'm thinking about doing it just in HTML / CSS

    Thoughts?

Most of the people on here have never tried anything but wordpress in their lives, so you're going to get some very biased answers :p

    This doesn't really matter.

It's possible to make a wordpress template and an HTML design have the EXACT SAME HTML output if you do it right.

There will be more variation depending on your template or theme compared to what CMS you are using making this conversation a bit pointless.

Some wordpress themes are valid also.. Headlines from WooThemes for example.

This. If I copied my hand coded html pages to Wordpress sites, the only thing different would be a management system in the backend and easier updates. You can make your own wordpress themes look just like your custom HTML.

valid code unless beyond bad does not matter

everyone will cry saying no this work no that work

but look at large company sites , are they valid ?

    does it matter ?

its always test test test test test

and how much time = $$$

go hand code 100 pages take 40min each page with upload

do it with cms takes 2 hours with upload

how much $ is your time worth ?

Depends what you want. If you want speed and the ability to add content without software then WP is your answer. If you want a site that's easily changed with tables/css then HTML is the best.

Personally, I'd go for HTML because I can make more versatile sites - and I'm not a php expert.

Like SaraJ said, it doesn't really matter if the output is the same.

Oh yeah and one other thing: spend your time developing content rather than worrying about WP or HTML :)
