    Hello BHW,
I took me a whole week to learn the fundamentals of PHP and MySQL and I have created a small number of websites with this. I noticed alot of members using Wordpress along with multiple extensions/plug-ins. Is wordpress+SEOplugins more efficient than manual SEO with HTML? If so than I think I need to learn Wordpress today :D

It's always advisable to embed the plugin functionality into a theme. This makes the website faster. So if you are planning to make a theme which is going to be seo friendly in nature then embed the functionality inside the theme instead of relying on a plugin.

Yea, I made a CMS from scratch. I think Ill download it to experiment. The main thing is the themes, apparently you can change themes in a matter of seconds? Where it may take me a hour or 2 to get the menu graphics and everything down. Who knows, if I like it I may just sell easy to make WP sites for $300+ :D

I wrote a lot of website (even complex ones) in PHP / MySql, and, I have to say that after I move to Wordpress and Joomla (depend on what you have to do) they save me a lot of time! Remember that WordPress already embed a lot of meta-tag in the header and a simple free plugin add a another ton, and all of them make it SE Friendly...so..final answer is yes, move to WordPress and/or Joomla!

    Remember this:

    Simple Websites/Blogs/Landing Page/Nothing Complicated = WordPress
E-Commerce and Complex Websites = Joomla

Both have SEO pluggins (WordPress SEO by Yoast for Wordpress and SH404SEF for Joomla) and more other...only need to do a search...

For design template go straight to Artisteer (Try the demo before buy!), small price and work good (with a fantastic Auto Generation Function!)!

    Sorry for the long post....

EDIT: Artisteer work for WordPress platform and Joomla too...

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
