    Introduction

This method is pretty basic, doesn?t require a lot of work but has the potential to make a few hundred a day. This is not an advance technique, just something for noobs to get started making some money.

    Basic Overview

What we will be doing is sort of flipping wordpress themes and selling footer links. Im going to assume you know what wordpress is, if you don?t google it. We will buy or create a wordpress theme and then sell encrypted footer links on digitalpoint for a profit.

    The Method

Step 1: Find a wordpress theme to promote.

You can either have a wordpress theme designed or create one yourself. Getafreelancer.com has a ton of Indians willing to do this work for cheap, usually around $30 - $40 for a pretty decent quality template. Make sure you do a little research on what kind of templates bring in the most for link sales (finance, health, automotive, etc). Go to the Link Sales section on digitalpoints Buy Sell Trade section. If you do not want to invest any money up front you can rip off a template. Google ?wordpress themes? and download a generic theme, edit the CSS file and change the theme?s colors and header logo.

Step 2: Organize your For Sale thread

Once you have your wordpress theme created and ready to promote head over to digitalpoint and go to the Buy, Sell Trade section ?Link Sales?. Take a screenshot of your theme and upload it somewhere so you are able to show it as an example. Look at the other ?Sponsor this theme? threads for examples on how to make your theme auction professional. When I flipped my first theme I made it myself (just ripped off a generic template from a wordpress themes site) replaced the logo, changed the colors in the CSS file and I was done.

On DP you usually sell 3 links and 1 designer link. The reason people buy these links is they hope someone will use the theme and will provide backlinks for the person that bought the link. I set the start bid for the 3 links at $20 (BIN at $60) each and the designer at $30 (BIN at $79). After the bidding ended I was able to earn $120 for the 3 links and $45 for the designer for a total of $165.

    Step 3: Promote the theme

Part of the agreement about these wordpress theme link sales is that YOU promote the theme and distribute it to various free wordpress themes websites. Well we don?t have time for that so we will outsource the work. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=721574

This guy provides a service to submit your theme to 40 places for $8.

Step 4: Encrypting or Decrypting Footer Links

The second part of the agreement is that you encrypt the footer links for the person that purchases your WP theme link. There are a ton of simple HTML or PHP encryptions online, run your buyer?s link through one of these and paste it into the footer.php file (or whatever your authored called it). A simple google search will yield a ton of free encryption software that you can use online.

Also, sometimes when you are trying to rip off a wordpress theme there are already footer links encrypted. You can easily decode this by visiting an active version of the theme (free wordpress theme websites always provide a live version of the theme), rightclick > view source. Navigate to the footer section and copy the code inside the section. Delete the coded nonsense that is in the footer.php file with the normal, uncoded section.

    Conclusion

The first theme I sold links to netted me $157 for about 3 hours of my time. This is a simple way to start making money immediately.

Thanks for the info. I have actually been thinking of doing this. I have got Ar*tisteer free version. All they have done to protect the generated theme is watermark the header logo. Just change it and you're done.

I am interested in this. Could you recommend an encryption software? The ones I found online ask for a password to encrypt... should it be a MD5 instead?

Maybe because it is 5 in the morning here, this confused me....

So you are making custom WP themes so flip. But then where do the links come in? What do they do? Backlinks? Where do you get these links for?

Maybe it will make more sense in the AM....
