simple tags plugin and have a tag cloud on the front of your page

yeah, tags are really important as they create a decent interlinking structure. Those "related posts" plugins are also helpful for interlinking.

Too bad Wordpress recently nofollowed all tags. I used to suck the PR out of their tag pages and would load up all of my posts with them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but their are Do-follow plugins made for that :-)

Thanks for all of your great advice. I will definately give it a try. John

You might even consider the permalink structure to this:

%postname%

Yes, most of what everyone said.

Remember to do the following;
Get All In One SEO Pack
XML-Sitemap for Google
Related Posts
Edit the permalink structure.
Put more effort in your tags.

I'd add that when you use the all-in-one-seo plugin, make sure you check the following in the settings:

Use noindex for Categories
Use noindex for Archives
Use noindex for Tag Archives

so you don't get dinged for duplicate content within your own site!

Thats where I think your wrong, u can get a plugin to DO follow all the comments on YOUR blog if you want to pass PR along to your readers..

I don't think you can just be like OH im taking wordpress' PR and install a plugin for it

if this Use noindex for all RSS feeds
Use noindex for Search result pages on the site
Use noindex for sub pages ????

im sory but i newbei.... :o:o

I am curious as to what is better permalink-wise :

%postname%

or

%postname%/

? what do you guys think?

try xml google site map
platinium seo plugin
and try to install ******** plugin, you will have more visitors

I don't believe in that. More pages = more authority.
It's not duplicate pages. The pieces (excerpt) are duplicated, but the page no.
I make mini blogs with WP and disable the noindex categories and archives, so I have 5 or 6 extra indexed pages.

I have a blog witch rank 2 of them better than the blog for one of the main keywords.

Just my 2 cents.

Oops gdll I made a mistake in my earlier post. The permalink structure should be /%postname%

Use noindex for Categories
Use noindex for Archives
Use noindex for Tag Archives

My take on this is that more pages does not equal more authority. But it is the quality and quantity of sites indexed by the search engine that matters.

my 2 cents.

Great thread! I picked up a ton of useful tips and information. I'm new to seo with Wordpress. Thanks!

Blogger or Wordpress? Blogger takes 1/2 adsense commissions!
Is it true that google takes our 1/2 adsense commision from blogspot?
