It's not going to happy right then when you put the plug in on your site and update the titles and so on. In most cases it will take about 7 days for google to come back around to your site and update the site.

Check if you have blocked your website from search engines go to settings and find that option

I stopped using SEO plugins. Frankly their a major pain in my ass. So a few things.

Remove your plug in and then see what your title tag is showing. Also, the description may not be what you want. The search engines can return different results based on the query.

If that doesn't help you can PM me your site and I will look at the header info for you.

Yeah Google does whatever it wants, it won't always return your chosen title, or meta desc.

Your theme may be making a mess and playing with your plugin settings. When I've had these problems is usually theme vs plugin, like thesis vs seo ultimate for example. Battle of code!

But seriously, try rich text snippet preview on Google, ya know, where you test if your author tags and review stars are working. That doesn't rely on cached content, so it should show your title/desc. as it is currently, rather than having to wait a few days or even weeks for it to update in the SERPs.
