    What version? Restart computer?

You could even try going to gallery and manually uploading from there

Change your upload permissions to 777 then create a new folder.

Login to you admin using www .thesite .com instead of .thesite .com

    USe the www

Have you disabled javascript in your browser? The "add image" popup likely uses javascript, and if you have disabled it, it won't function. If you still can't get it to work, you could either insert the HTML code for the image or try reinstalling WP.

Why not just switch your post to HTML and insert the HTML code for the image?

Everything will work once you disable the PLUGIN that is stopping the
wordpress version from working. I had the same problem then I went through
individually which plugins were affecting the functionality of wordpress.

So, what plugin did it turn out to be? Have you let the plugin coder know about the problem?

I know that some people could not care less if their work is crap and causes problems.

Many plugin authors however, consider themselves craftsmen and want to know where their plugin breaks so they can go in and fix it.

Who knows? You might get lucky.
