I'm starting up a new venture, it's a blog based on WP.

I was about to install a WP Adsense manager plugin when I came across this: http://goo.gl/D6ps6p

Apparently there are Adsense plugins that steal your AD revenue.

Has anyone ever had that experience? And what plugin do you use now...or perhaps you decided to go to custom code?

That's a shocking news for me, how people game every system to get benefit from it illegally. I'm into blogging niche so never used adsense or any other ad publisher company.

What is so difficult to implement the AdSense code manually???
I always hated and never used this so called AdSense plugins, and if anyone is lazy enough to add their ad codes manually then I think that they deserve to lose their earnings

This is why I manually add the Adsense code myself, can't trust any plugin like that.

what a ridiculous thing to say, we all want to streamline the process of making wordpress sites and adsense plugins make it all a bit easier.

Wish the article showed the code doing it.

    Shameful though!

Why would you need a plugin for such a simple thing? The more plugins you add the slower your site will be and the more vulnerable to attacks it will be. You should do your best to have as little plugins as possible and only roll with the ones you absolutely need. I think it's hilarious when people add silly things like add facebook like button to your posts, seriously take the 30 seconds to learn how to add it in yourself.

This doesn't make any sense. I could say the same about you using WP - if you're lazy enough not to build a website from scratch yourself, you would deserve to lose traffic then.

Plugins are there to make life easier. And Wordpress itself is the plugin of plugins: it was invented so you don't have to deal with the crap of coding yourself.

As long as it is in their TOS that nobody reads?
On that note, I didn't read the link but that is because you used a link shortner and that is actually against the rules of BHW if I'm not mistaken...

Why not just paste the adsense code into a widget? This would be just as easy as a plugin. Coding in a widget area is also really easy just a few tweeks to wp core in theme if there isn't an area you already like..

I use quickadsense to drop my adsense.

I have also heard the same about some link shorting services (can not remember the names) and affiliate link cloakers. For links, I just drop my link in a php redirect, name index.php and drop in folder and name it out/go or whatever.
