wordpress meta tag query

    i am trying to sign up for google webmaster tools
    but my blog has to be verified with a meta tag

    the blog is wordpress hosted
    can some one help:confused:

    Instead of a metatag you can use a small file that Google offers for download.
    Upload this file to the root of your site and in webmastertools click VERIFY...and done.

    I never used the metatag.

    Yeah, just create the .html file in the root directory for your site.

    Webmaster tools will tell you to create a file named something like 2654asd57as65f.html.

    Do that and then click "Verify" and G will start to crawl.

    isritter is right

    it's been a long time since I applied a site to G tools.
    thought it was a file but G gives you a filename..
