    Hey guys,

A couple months back, I hit a milestone. I made it upto 600 pages, and my Wordpress basically stopped working. This is what my host said:

"Looking at your server, http://www.animepalm.com is exploding with many many "index.php" processes (the main "core" of your site's scripts) that are chewing up massive amounts of CPU/Memory. Have you made any recent changes to Animepalm? New modules? Upgrades? Significant content changes?"

Recently, yesterday to be exact, I had the same problem, but it was after reaching about 13,000 posts. My website took about 10mins to load into a page. After deleting 1 post, my website went back into normal loading process. Here's what my host said:

"The server's load plummeted from about 25 to 1.00 and it's holding steady. There are no longer a flood of index.php processes from animepalm"

Does anybody know why I seem to have hit a limit of pages, or posts? And if I have, is there a way to get around it?

    Regards,

600 pages?? WTF; why would you use wordpress to build pages instead of posts?

I have sites with more than 1000 pages and more than 20000 posts and no problem. It seems that you should move to a vps (in case you don't have vps) or move to a better vps (In case you have one). You are in a shared hosting? How about traffic? how many unique visitors you have?

I don't think the problem is wordpress (with pages and posts) I think the problem is in the server or the wordpress configuration that you have (may be the theme, or a plugin that is causing that).

That was a mistake I made when I was just starting out. I used Pages for the Series Descriptions, instead of Posts. After learning I didn't need to use Pages for it, I turned to Posts. And I've been using Posts ever since.

I do have a VPS. It isn't that awesome though, the one I use is this:
    http://www.ace-host.net/virtualservers.html
The "Spark" Package. I'm moving to better hosting next month, though. I didn't know the hosting effected how many Posts or Pages I could have? Any way to get around it without having to move to better hosting?

Thanks for the response. I really appreciate all the help.
    Regards,

it doesn't matter how many pages you have. it matters not to use a lot of resources. you should remove complicated scripts/plugins from your page. try to minimize the number of queries your theme makes to the database.

How do I find out the queries made to the database? and also, is there a way to remove Drafts/Autosaves from the database using phpMyAdmin, cause I have thousands of drafts.... due to it being a video site.
