I've been spending AGES trying to do simple things like aligning a few pictures how I want them. The editor view ends up looking totally different from how it shows up on the page.

Im trying to do a little cascade effect but its proving very tedious.

Also wordpress has that insane thing where it deletes html edits you make yourself in the html editor so when I try and do something manually it just wipes it out.

Any suggestions on how to make it behave better in this regard?

I have a simple fashion ecommerce/blog and on the blog section I want to post new pictures regularly with little snips of text here and there but wordpress is making this apparently simple task extremely difficult.

    Suggestions?

Well its easy when you have alot of text filling up the spaces between the images but not when theres alot of blank space.

Since its a ecommerce/fahsion site I will only be doing a few words making a coment about the pic so the whitespace keeps getting dleted but wordpress. But that isnt the problem i found out the code that it will accept for that. The issue is that the editor doesnt show the same alignments for pics s is shown on the final page.

Things will be all over the place.

This is a problem with WordPress. The visual editor does not render very well many times. It used to drive me buggy. When you add pictures, make sure to choose the float property, that should help.

If you update the page you should not be losing changes made in the text editor, Do you think you might benefit from a 30 minute WP help session? Might just be a situation where you just haven't gotten the procedure down.

where isthis flaot thing you speak of i dont see it in the image editor.

I ended up just putting one picture per line and just centering it. a workaround to the issue of not being able to arrange them properly.

With what I can see, what you are experiencing at the momeny is a problem with Wordpress. So, you no longer have to worry about the HTML codes that you are using. However, if you want to be sure, just hire an HTML expert who can help you work on your problems.

The new image options in the recent update removed the padding function, which I find irritating, because now I have to to it in HTML now. That said, if you have a standard layout, get someone to tweak your stylesheet.

    AWFUL***

That "E" was hurting the Grammar Nazi deep within me.

As for your WordPress predicament, just use the float options when inserting your media. You can also just edit the raw HTML. Best option IMO is to add a CSS class or ID to the image and add your styles to the global style sheet. I know when you turn it from plain text to WYSIWYG it can screw with inline styles.

Unfortunately, in many cases, to get things in WP to line up with your vision, you will need to learn CSS + HTML.

Or, you can pay someone to tweak/customize your theme.

Either way, customizing the theme via CSS/HTML is going to be your solution.

i think you need the shortcode below, it may not work with your theme but it should with most themes. it allows you to divide the page up just put your content in between the code. makes things alot easier! If this doesnt work just google " wordpress column shortcode plugin"

    Code:
    [full_width][/full_width]
    [one_half][/one_half]
    [one_half_last][/one_half_last]
    [one_third][/one_third]
    [one_third_last][/one_third_last]
    [two_third][/two_third]
    [two_third_last][/two_third_last]
    [one_fourth][/one_fourth]
    [one_fourth_last][/one_fourth_last]
    [three_fourth][/three_fourth]
    [three_fourth_last][/three_fourth_last]
    [one_fifth][/one_fifth]
    [one_fifth_last][/one_fifth_last]
    [two_fifth][/two_fifth]
    [two_fifth_last][/two_fifth_last]
    [three_fifth][/three_fifth]
    [three_fifth_last][/three_fifth_last]
    [four_fifth][/four_fifth]
    [four_fifth_last][/four_fifth_last]
    [one_sixth][/one_sixth]
    [one_sixth_last][/one_sixth_last]
    [five_sixth][/five_sixth]
    [five_sixth_last][/five_sixth_last]

Surely it is your theme giving you all this trouble with the page being different than the editor output.
I have have never had a problem such as this one before with Wordpress. My advice would be to change your theme to a free theme with many downloads on the Wordpress directory, then if the html edits you make by yourself still vanish, try deactivating all the plugins and activating them one by one until you find the one that is causing the trouble. Hope this helps
