For all that people rave about Wordpress, it's so much more difficult to use than Blogger. I can do things in Blogger that are so easy and with Wordpress it's a huge chore.

    I'm referring to a self-hosted blog BTW, not Wordpress.com.

Anyway, now that I've finished my rant, here's what I'm trying to do.

I'm creating a Wordpress blog that I am going to be charging a fee to access.

Inside the blog are going to be internet marketing audio and video tutorials that are MRR products. There are going to be 30 of them. One for each day of the week. Once people pay the fee, they'll be put on my list and mailed a link to access a course each day. They'll also be able to download the full product with MRR.

Ok, now you know what I'm doing. Here's my issue.

I need to know how to embed SWF videos into the posts.

Now, I know that I can upload the videos to my web server and then just put links in the posts that wil open them, and that's fine for most of the courses.

However, I'm also providing premium content and for some of those I need to be able to embed the SWF or FLV videos right into the posts so that when the visitor lands on the post, they can press play and watch the video. I've tried the tools that Wordpress offers from the posting console, and al they do is put a link in the post, which is useless.

I've also uploaded the Kimilli plug-in, but can't seem to get it to work.

Does anyone know how to do this? Or can provide me the best solution?

When searching for your plugins be sure to check if the plugin is comparable to Theme you are using.

Yesterday I spent a good time of my day search and updating plugins. Maybe the theme you are using is
3.0 and higher when the plugin hasn't been updated yet.

It happened to me yesterday when trying to activate some plugins using the new WP Versions (for videos as well).

    Good Luck! :D

Are you hoisting the videos on your server, if yes then you need to upload the video to you media file within the webpress blog, your then need to put in an embed code, code below, just copy it to word and where the video is saved within the media section of wordpress you'll have replace the code in green below, your also need a image which is highlighted in green and in blue will be the location of the swf media player, just rreplace were the green, red, and blue is and then copy and paste it into your post or wp page.

    <object classid=?clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000″ codebase=?http://download.macromedia.com /pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0″ width=?480″ height=?360″><param name=?flashvars? value=?file=http://www.yourdomainname.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/videoname.flv&image=http://www. yourdomainame.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/thumbimage.JPG? /><param value=?http://www.yourdomainname.com/mediaplayer.swf? /><embed src=?http://www.yourdomainname.com/mediaplayer.swf? width=?480″ height=?360″ type=?application/x-shockwave-flash? pluginspage=?http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer? flashvars=?file=http://www.fourblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/videoname.flv&image=http://www.yourdomainame.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/thumbimage.JPG? /></object>

You just need to use a membership plugin which allows you to put the same embedded content on every page but by adding the given code just before and after the content makes content only visible to say for instance premium members and to others that are not registered something like,"you need to be registered to view this content" appears.

OK, I've got it going for the most part. I host all of the videos on my server but not on Wordpress because some of the video files are bigger than 64MB. Also, it's a good idea for me to upload the entire video files because now I have the flexibility of just putting links to them in posts if I want and it will open the video in a new window.

I am using the Kimili flash plug-in which seems to be the easiest and best to use.

Now, most of the videos work by just inputting the path url to where the swf or flv video file is. However, I'm having a problem with some of the Camtasia videos because I can't seem to get the controller to show up. What happens is that the video automatically plays when the page is pulled up.

Now, this isn't such a huge problem for posts where there is just one video, but if I have a post with 2 or 3 videos, it's no good because they all start playing at the same time.

No matter what the hell I try, just can't get the controller to work on some of these.

It's not a problem on the ones that have the box in the middle of the video that you just click to play, but on the ones that have the controller bars at the bottom, I can't seem to solve it.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
