I am coding custom HTML5 into the WYSIWYG editor. I want to disable its clean coding. I have 20 or so pages I am coding tags around and am also going to code some into my templates. Wordpress issue.

This is killing me. It is all over Google w/ no solution. Luckily I save copies of everything in Word.

    <span microdata>I hate WYSIWYG</span> comes back as <span>I hate WYSIWYG</span>

I am writing tags around some words and phrases. I microformat some data in the HTML. The WYSIWYG removes ALL the mirodata. I flip out.

I want the option to disable WYSIWYG on some, if not most of my pages. I want to drop microdata in the PHP files and in the text as I write it.

    Do I use

    Easy Disable Visual Editor:

Easily disables the visual editor globally.
Hooks the user_can_richedit filter and returns false so that the visual editor is never used. Much more efficient, simple and reliable than the other disable visual editor plugin that requires you to delete the visual editor files from your install.

    -------

Ok I don't think that is a solution. I don't want to code every page without the visual editor and in HTML. I want to code with the visual editor, switch to HTML and have no code cleaned when I do it

It is not difficult at all. Go to users->your profile->check disable visual editor when editing

    hope that helps.

The wordpress visual editor automatically cleans code. So I think the only option is to preview the post in html mode.

Yea. That won't work. It still cleans it cause the editor still runs. I don't want to remove the file. I want to temp override it or have it realize that I am writing in code and just let it be

Essentially, any HTML in the editor is removed. I want that option disabled. Not a partial part, because there are plugins that allow some microformats to be recognized, but everything I type in. hmmm

Dude, don't write the html in the visual editor. I have showed you how to disable the visual editor. Disable it and you can add any html tag like <iframe> for example. You have to do this in html mode. Then click on preview and you can see it in action. Don't switch back to visual editor.

I did code in HTML, saved it and let it run. This was for <div> and special types of micorformats with links in them. I coded in HTML published and it was fine. I did that before, clicking Visual resets it. I don't even want that risk. I won't be the guy doing this website forever. Snippets are a bitch to code in and I don't want someone making the mistake

I found the way though to trigger it for sections, separate pages etc, and allow you to switch back and forth

I gave up WP for this very reason. Good luck with the %&$§ search results that are closed without giving a solution. The platform is nice for the newbies but that's it.

I guess you could use custom fields for your micro data?

Im starting to feel this pain.

The resolutions for this issue...which I found 2 of...are not all the way capable of solving the advanced issue I am dealing with.

One should be easy...very simple...but it isn't working and I emailed the developer.

The other one I won't even try till I get a response because it is tedious and if it doesn't work - I rather not waste my time.

I may just employ someone to write a plugin for this. A button that says "Dont fuck with my html" and you click it and just let it happen.
