What's considered correct for the different options of the All in One SEO WordPress plugin?

First of all, I just deleted my home pages meta tags thinking that this plugin (when I filled out those forms) would insert them into the page source, but I don't see them when looking in the source now.

I'm wondering about what to put in the options from the post title format through the paged format. All the options in between. I'm a bit confused. Like I read the descriptions but there are so many different possibilities and I want to know what would benefit me best.

I am trying to get my home page which happens to be the keyword as the first result on Google. I'm not against the 'other' posts being helped in the search engines but I want the most benefit to be given to helping my home page move up the front page. Any help would be appreciated.

you can change the post title for each post in your blog also avoid google from dublicate index for example your tag pages.

@2 you might want to make the permalinks domain/postname and leave out the category.
noindex nofollow on your tags and archives would also be a good idea imho.

I was hoping more so to get a list of what you guys would put in each of the few boxes in between there and I'm not sure what I should put in each. I've looked a little bit on google but either I'm not googling the right thing or nobody is writing about it.

Exactly what I wanted! Can anybody comment on what he did and possibly recommend a change to that, otherwise I'll use something similar for mine too.

I run it almost stock, with permalinks set to /%postname%/ Seems to work fairly well. Unfortunately my autoblogs just sit there right now as I;ve never pushed any traffic to them.

Bump. Interested in hearing what others have to say about the extension issue...

I've always used /%postname%/ but I've never really tried it with .htm/.html/.php etc. extension.

Anyone have a preference or a reason not to use one or the other?

    Thanks

I'm curious too. I'd rather have the .htm instead of the month.

His suggestion assume that your categories are not your keywords as well.

If they are then your are doing a disservice by not checking the option:

Use categories for meta keywords -
    unchecked

Also if your categories match your keywords you may want to change your permalink structure as well to custom.

    /%category%/%postname%/
