We just upgraded our sites to WordPress 2.7. I love the new admin panel. It's going to take a little getting used to, but wow. Anyone else check it out yet?

jip, the admin panel is great
i did a test installation to check my widgets
Yeah, I'm still figuring it out, but there are a lot of things that can be done considerably faster now. All of the plugins we use work with it without modification.

I just grabbed the new version to setup a few blogs after a long time without working any WP sites,
I have to say, The new admin panel is really decent looking, I will have to play with it and find what's changed!

I havent upgraded, I think most of my third party plugins wont work if I do.

Also I am kinda pissed off because Yahoo hasnt upgraded their php yet.

I'm into it. I knew the old admin panel needed to be upgraded, but I was already very used to it. The new one will take a little time for me, but I can already tell it's a lot better.

Loves me some Wordpress.

We haven't noticed a single problem with plugin compatibility. Even the plugins that haven't been updated in years work swimmingly.

Awesome, I may try it then. Can we get some admin panel screenshots anyone?

The panel is awesome...I like everything being compact on one page and the option to go to the "regular" page if need be. A+ for wordpress....so far. :p

Is there anyone out there who has experience with both wp and joomla who would offer up there 2 cents on which one is best? I'm new at both and would love to get some insight to which one I should focus on.

I guess I'll let everyone beta test it for me and wait for 2.7.1. The friggin non-stop upgrades are a pain in the ass. I know they are needed to fix security flaws and make it better, but it's still a pain in the ass. I've got something like 50 blogs to update it seems like almost every month.

I agree. Even though I have 1 blog currently running, this is so damn annoying because they make updates like every month and it's a pain to keep upgrading the blog because it takes time.

use a hosting company like dreamhost etc you can upgrade all your blogs with one click

Or just use the one-click auto-update plugin for wordpress :-P

yer its pretty nice :) lookin good - only those fucked up buttons irritate me ;)

I think it is easily every month. I was just thinking this very same thought today. Sooo tired with the constant updates - back ups - reupdates --- S*** my main plugin doesn't work, unistall, look for new plugin version, reinstall. That didn't work...... rrrrrrr.

That's not really a good question. They are both great, but for different things. That's like asking which is best: a wrench or screwdriver. If all you need is a blog or review style site, WordPress is great. But, if you need forums, a mailing list manager, an ecommerce shop, etc Joomla might be the way to go. Make sense?
