I am wondering why people don't use free platforms like blogger.com or blogsome.com for autoblogs especially when the main issue is the hosting..

Do these blogs get banned on these? If not then whats the reason for everybody prefering to use wordpress..

Are blogger.com blogs difficult to rank on google? I guess they are easier than independent domains..

    Need some serious advice.

What better? 10 Wordpress blogs or 50 blogs on blogger.com ?

blogger blogs are good for link juice if you can get em ranked with good PR but if you are serious about autoblogging then blogger is not the way to go. Its too time consuming to automate other things.. sure you can make it autoblog but thats ALL you can do with it.

Blogger is good for throwaway blogs for seo purposes... they're not customizable, there aren't any plugins for it, and you don't have control over the blog itself. Self hosted wordpress is a much better option, and isn't that expensive. Most hosts charge $5-$8 per month or so, and many allow you to host an unlimited amount of domains on each account. If you need multiple IPs for interlinking purposes, get together with some friends you trust and each create a hosting account with a different company like Dreamhost, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc.. and set up cpanel accounts for everybody on each one. Each person pays for their own hosting account, but in turn get access to multiple servers. The more people you get on board, the more IP blocks you can link to/from.

There are tons of awesome WP templates floating around too. I don't think I've ever seen a Blogger template that I liked.

I agree with trapmuzik for the most part.

Blogger blogs are good yes but not for autoblogs from what I've seen.

Basically I don't like working hard on something if one day it's going to get deleted. Having your own hosting and domain names is the only way to go for long term autoblogs.

Blogger Blogs are good for ranking high pretty easy for most keywords though.

There are several blogger templates around that are direct adaptations of WP themes, some examples are in this download:

    Code:

Blogger is obviously less versatile than WP, but despite its rigidity permits you to readily add snippets of javascript to do several of the basic functions of autoblog or other WP plugins. Another thread on BHW listed over 250 different free blogging platforms out there, and if standalone scripts could be developed for this non WP platform universe, no one would have to spend money on hosting fees or have IP worries.

Creating wealth should operate from deferring liabilities. The point behind looking past WP to the free sources is precisely to get out of this mode of "gotta spend out of pocket first, in order to make cash." No, you don't have to. Think "Rich Dad" here, and structure your business to make cash using free resources, then spend any money to expand your blog farm system with money from profit, not pocket.

If your first autoblogs are going to be learning experiences anyway, why lock yourself into the certainty of paying for them in monthly hosting fees, with only the hope of receiving earnings from them? Create certain assets first, then decide to pay expenses or take on liabilities that will be paid for from those assets.

I'm curious about the duplicated content in autoblog..does it have to be rewritten or duplicated content is fine? if it matters then self hosted wordpress is better because it have rewrite plugin to do so..but if it doesn't matter then blogspot would be my choice because it is much easier to autoblog blogspot blog. Here is a blogspot autoblog that I recently build using a method listed in BH.

    Code:
    h**p://laptop-gizmo.blogspot.com/
I think the method works well because the content belong to our blog and linking to the original source..but that's my opinion..any comment?

    personal opinion

when your selling products or services to make money

at a higher level - blogger is not for you

because you can only make the appearance so good

and having the site blogspot.com is not always the best thing

so time/effort/reward/long term seem to point to wordpress in my opinion

I tried the blogger thing with 150 or so blogs but they banned me from adsense - I think they though my setup was becoming too spammy.

I hope this helps those looking to test the water with a blogger semi-autoblog. Take any rss feed and sent it to a draft.blogger blog, and have them saved as draft posts. Feed many feeds for lots of content to choose from. Each day, look at your draft rss feeds, choose the ones you want to keep, and edit out the unsubscribe link. If you want to post it, then do so, or if you want to get creative you can schedule it to post anytime you want in the future. This can give you some extra control, but it also takes a little maintenance. But if you get enough feeds, let it set a few days, you can handpick seo content for as far in the future as you wish.

You can use blogs that are hosted on blogger to provide inbound links to your autoblogs. There was a thread on here somewhere about how to use blogger as an autoblogger, so thats where u can get the content from.

PM me if u want to chat this over

is see a lot of people arguing which is better. I use them both.

from my personal experience blogger ranks higher for SEO. But wordpress has far more features and can be extremely easy to use for the creation of your main site.
