    It's her fault, not Google's. She went across a highway, not streets sidewalks and crosswalks. Besides; Google's directions are used with data they have. They don't know if streets have sidewalks or not.

    how much does it cost to file a law suit?

    Well, you have to get a lawyer, which is the most expensive part. Then I think there are court fees or something like that.

    Of course it's silly, but that woman has a good chance because she was using her phone for downloading the walking directions.
